QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Manual review is limited to WP1 in my experience, I’ve never been able to access a manual human review as a WP.

Your WP bro will be able to request the release of a seat which will be assessed by the bot. I’ve had plenty of success releasing for family members and plenty of denials, can’t say if it impacts the likelihood.
I think OP has got the terminology mixed up and mistakenly used the word "manual" when shouldn't have.
Guessing OP actually means "make a request for an immediate family member".
Answer is yes.

Manual review is for P1 only, when the computer rejects the request.
This is always confused for "no answer yet" and WPs being told to call back later for an answer.

The two statements cannot both be correct.

In any case, it really is a question of how much you value your time. If you have all the time in the world, you can call every day if you really want.

Just had some luck with the release of business seats despite being previously told that the allocation was exhausted. So it does appear that availability can change closer to departure.

I had an alert set on expert flyer for I class. I got an alert yesterday and made the request today, 2 seats released to Jakarta from Melbourne. I originally had this booked as a classic plus in economy. The operator took almost an hour to seperate this flight from my return classic reward flight, but she was determined to make it work. An excellent job in the end with a great result.

That's alot of dedication by the operator, did you get the Hobart centre! I guess having WP or P1 has a higher chance the operator is willing to work with you on this.

So - had something very unexpected. I requested 2 x J for MEL-LAX, 3 outbound dates late Jan, and 2 return dates in mid-Feb. All 5 came back approved. Never had that happen before - the Classic Reward robot must be in a particularly good mood today :)

Question to the collective knowledge...

What chances does a P1 have of opening up 1 seat for family in J or F SYD LHR rtn in Nov. EF is showing:
QF1: F9 A6 J9 C9 D9 I6 W9 R2 T2 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V0 S9 N9 Q9 O9 X3 E0
QF2: F9 A5 J9 C9 D9 I0 W9 R3 T3 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V0 S9 N9 Q9 O0 X0 E0

I have a little flex on dates, but not very much.
Super high I'd say? Don't p1 outside of holidays only need F availability, let alone A. And with I6 I'd say 100% chance on QF1 for biz, likely on QF2 with D9 as well.

That sounds great. For clarity, the family member is now only a lowly Gold :-) with QF but OWE through BA. Not that makes any difference I think.

Yep makes no difference. I'm also in the "almost certainly possible" camp, especially if you have a bit of flex on days.

The required available fare buckets vary between CLPO and P1.
I think F is for CLPO only and A for P1.
There was a post in the P1 FB group that I remember seeing on this - regarding the difference between CLPO/P1.
