Wonder the 8000 points was for the original PER-SYD-HKG trip? I actually asked for my money back and bought a SQ ticket instead. SQ made a big sale on the day QF cancel the flights.

Compensation points came through today. 20k in total. Was travelling Y to HKG and J back to PER.

I wonder though. What good is compensation points when you don't have flights to use them on?

Bit dramatic give there is no port that has lost Qantas flights in totality for some time, not to mention the option of using them on One World?

I never have a problem using points; I burn around 500K per year and could easily do another 500K if I had them.

Indeed Qantas mainline is flying almost 150 jets around every day so there must be something to redeem a flight on
