QP members diverted from LAX TBIT Lounge until upgrade Complete - "Next Year"

There were empty seats, no one was being turned away. The queue to get in was 5-6 people so I paid attention...but your comments are correct

I guess by 10pm most of the QF12 PAX have departed.

Going back to the earlier posts in this thread, the reports were that QP were being proactively diverted, before the lounge began to get crowded.

Of course, management have a fair idea of the numbers to expect on any given evening so may or may not enact these diversions.

FWIW< I have experinced this at the MEL AirNZ lounge quite often where guesting rules on any given evening (but particularly Fridays) could vary markedly. (No guests, 1 guest rather than 5 for "Gold Elite" etc..)

Today's email from Lesley Grant said "the new Los Angeles First and expanded Business lounges will open later this year." As I'll be there in early December on a first ticket, am keen to know the facts on this. Any idea if this is correct or is 2015 still more likely??

The Business lounge was meant to be March/April wasnt it. Booked a ticket in early June thinking it would be safe to be ready. But missed it by like 2 weeks cause of all the delays.

A touch off topic but can pax taking an EK flight in J at 16:45 out of LAX use the QF lounge ?
If so would this be the lounge of the choice for an EK pax ? And are you likely to be subjected to any diversions lol ?

No you can't use the QF Lounge. North America isn't part of the QF/EK alliance. EK are supposed to be building a lounge I think but they use the Skyteam lounge at LAX
