Correct. Again, certain status will get you access - don't need to be flying F + able to guest another in whatever class.....QFCL and other OW elites are also granted access with guesting rights.

OW doesn't recognise status above Emerald afaik.

Re: QP Members Barred from LAX TBIT Lounge until upgrade Completed - Sometime "Next Y

There are no partner elites entitled to CCR access, unless they are flying BA F. QFCL elites do not have access unless flying BA F.

Even status does not truly give access. BA simply gives those who have earned 5000 TP a CCR access card. They are BA Gold but that occurs at 1500 TP. In all other ways, they are still "merely" BA Gold even as a CCR card holder.

But we are getting way off topic, and the BA CCR at LHR is a rather mediocre F lounge in my opinion, give me the SYD or MEL QF F lounges any day over that lounge.

So we agree - no need to fly F to gain CCR access.

I guess we need a CL to confirm their access rights. FWIW, I've seen quite a few post here on AFF from CL members confirming they are granted access regardless of class.

But as I said if at capacity then OWEs are treated the same as QPs at TBIT.

Never mind, tired of the parsing.

Isn't that written in the T&C for lounge access across the board ?

No need to pull that one  Misinformation is corrected here all the time.....

I googled quick and found that yes CLs have been let into the CCR, reports both here and on FT. However, it is not a definite perk from what I can tell. Of course, there are not that many CLs out there, so reports are few and far between, and since it does not appear to be a definite perk, reports of denial are not going to be posted frequently. Whereas, QP membership includes access to the TBIT Oneworld lounge, but the access being denied is much more likely to be reported as it is in fact a definite perk of the QP membership. For me, my frustration is more that the entire line of conversation is so completely not germane to the thread, and that my wrongness on the initial point really has nothing to do with the subject at hand. So, let us get back to the subject at hand, I admit I was wrong on the CCR access.

Re: QP Members Barred from LAX TBIT Lounge until upgrade Completed - Sometime "Next Y

When we were there last month sitting right at the desk waiting for the wheelchair for mrsdrron there were OWEs being sent to the F lounge.CCR was full.
I presume this relates to overcrowding?

Don't you mean "First PAX" rather than "OWEs"? (As OWE's not traveling in first would so be sent anyway.)

Missed that CCR? TBIT?

Qfcl and BA ccr passes are not Oneworld status levels.
Correct. misinformation is corrected here all the time.

FWIW, as you seem to have missed a fair chunk of the discussion  It was stated that CCR access was limited to passengers that fly BA First Class. This is clearly incorrect and has been acknowledged by the OP.

I have never stated that BA GGL/CRC or CL are OW status levels. However, these status levels can/have/will gain you access to the CCR regardless of travel class.

Haven't you? Let's review your post below. That infers that Qfcl is a oneworld status level and clearly states other Oneworld status will gain access. As I said Qfcl and ccr passes are NOT Oneworld status levels. Misinformation is corrected all the time.

It is also dubious to claim they are status levels at all, but that's a completely different story.

The End.

CCR is not the exclusive domain of F passengers. Nothing to do with bog standard WP.......but status will get you access to The CCR.

Let me walk you through it.

CL is a QF recognised level within the QFF system....other OW partners have a similar level within their own scheme. These super elite flyers get all sorts of extra perks courtesy of their status. As noted, the OW partners can/will/do reciprocate benefits across this band of FF membership within the OW alliance.

Also of interest is the fact the QF have different levels of CL membership based on the status flying one does...I.E. CLP1

Seeing how this conversation has officially been ended, all visitors to TBIT should be well aware of the Lakers and their infamous play by play caller, Chick Hearn and his version of 'The End'...

Whenever the Los Angeles Lakers winning a ballgame became a forgone conclusion, Chick would “put the game in the refrigerator.”
It went something like this: The door’s closed, the lights are out, the eggs are cooling, the butter’s getting hard and the jello’s jiggling.
There was simply no sweeter sound to the ears of a Lakers fan than hearing Chick put the game in therefrigerator.

Re: QP Members Barred from LAX TBIT Lounge until upgrade Completed - Sometime "Next Y

If CL was a Oneworld status level there would be no need for clp1. That brings us back to my statement and confirms there is nothing further to discuss.

According to the OW website OWEs are not given automatic entry to the CCR-
Relax in more premium lounges around the world If your oneworld® frequent flyer tier status is Emerald or Sapphire, or you are traveling in a First or Business Class cabin on any oneworld member airline, you can access more than 600 airport lounges throughout the world.
This means you can relax or catch up with work in comfort and style before departure, regardless of which oneworld member airline you choose to fly with.

  • To be eligible, you must be departing on a flight that is both marketed and operated by a oneworld member airline.
  • Some lounges may get busy at peak times, and access to them may be restricted as a result.
  • Lounges operated by third parties are identified in the lounge finder tool (above). Access to these lounges is restricted to eligible customers when travelling on specific oneworld airlines as shown in the lounge finder tool.
  • Arrivals lounges are excluded.
  • Spa and Pre-Flight Dining facilities are excluded.
  • British Airways Concorde lounges are excluded.
  • Other exceptions may apply (see below).
  • So if you have gained access and not flying first then BA have been generous. As I said when waiting near the desk for just over 30 minutes every OWE that tried to enter was directed to the galleries F lounge.Unless of course they are in F.

Inbound BA F gets CCR access.

BA elites limited to CCR lounge pass holders unless flying in F.

This is pretty much it in a nutshell with the addition of :
Temporary passes are available for selected other OW Alliance members holding invitational levels of status.

Now it would be nice to get back OT

I think we've hashed out all we can on the original topic :(, short of red roo coming here and saying they've magically been able to expand the current TBIT lounge and everyone who is entitled to have access has access again. However I'm not going to be holding by breath on that one.

Re: QP Members Barred from LAX TBIT Lounge until upgrade Completed - Sometime "Ne...

*Dons flame suit*
I think that QF has made the only realistic decision that they could implement in light of the overcrowding in the lounge until the F lounge re-opens.
The execution of this has so far been a failure IMO.
The alternate options explored and communication to QP members has been an absolute failure.
In that respect at least QF have the chance to put things right.

Exactly.

I don't have any problem with what QF have decided, just the manner in which it's been implemented.

Re: QP Members Barred from LAX TBIT Lounge until upgrade Completed - Sometime "Ne...

I am concerned about this comment on the AusBT article by Skobe:
"I recently travelled through LAX and despite being a gold Qantas Frequent Flyer, I too was rejected! I was told that they were overcrowded and only allowing business and first class passengers in. I was flying Premium Economy. So don't think being gold mans anything, it doesn't!Not happy Qantas!!"

I scoured this thread. Has anyone else heard of QF Gold or OW Sapphire being turned away? This will really p--- me off as my connecting flight from Toronto arrives 7 hours before my departure on QF 12.
