What I would like to see is what the staff do with 'NO SHOWS' !!!!! I know it wouldn't compare to what I would do to them (maybe I should work for Qantas  ) Red Roo can you get them to put that in an episode for us AFFers PLEASE !!

I think all the episodes for the current season have already been filmed

So wait.. the woman flying QF93 needs to get to Philly by 11am for her Father's funeral? My calculations predict she wouldn't make it even if the flight was on time. I'm confused.

I thought that was shades of ACA. Exploiting someone in distress for entertainment. She obviously must have signed a release in order to be filmed. But an ethical director would never have approached her.

She did say 11am the next day . If Benefit of doubt is in play then 93 arrives the morning on same calendar day., and therefore she would have 24 plus 3 hours to get to Philly.

Don't know what other airline she would have caught as all transpac flights would have already departed except perhaps QF17 but apparently she flew on another airline?

Just did a marathon of the first five eps split screen with this thread for commentary. Made it quite enjoyable actually! Thanks guys :)

From the few seconds that I saw, a waiter was having problems pronouncing Cabernet Sauvignon - but that could have been an ad on a recorded show/older episode, I wasn't paying that much attention but he was very earnest in his attempt.
To paraphrase the wine thread, the issue was really that he didn't know the difference between Cabernet and Sauvignon and though the customer liked the blend.:)

By the time they announced the no go of the 93, the other AU-US flights would have gone, but she could have gotten an evening flight from MEL or SYD to Asia, then on to the US east coast. Would have been tight, but with the time change and the right flight, she could well have made it. If she was transferred early enough, she could have gotten CX into BOS or JFK, then one of the last flights of the day she was due to arrive on 93 or the first flight the next morning and been in PHL in time.

The 'heart attack' appears staged.
Door opens to a hostess holding a bottle of wine, then when they cut to the incident, no other pax around or bags in overheads

Caught the last half. Retro flight to Longreach was OK.

BUT THEN! "Bangkok Airport"   I switched off when they showed the guy doing his make-up.

I guess its the natural progression for these genre of programs.

A $30,000,000.00 engine and the only way to remove it is with a spanner and a hammer!!!

The retro roo must have a pretty tight seat pitch as it carries '200 people to Longreach' on a 73H......

And at '100000 pounds of thrust', the QF 380 engines are a little bit more powerful than the standard 72000 pounds they are actually rated for.

(Spoiler alert for anyone who hasnt seen it the ep yet.)

So the CSM upgraded the family after initially being told there were no J seats
This is a really nice gesture but its a bit strange that all we are told is that she made "an executive decision". Does that mean she bumped people? Leaves me wondering if someone got kicked off the flight or perhaps upgraded some J pax to F to open up space. Just odd the specifics of how she made room werent revealed.

With the Med Emergency i also noted the bottle of wine seems a little out of place. Likely why the plane was empty was that since it wasnt a quarantine issue everyone else was allowed to disembark the plane leaving only the pax and room enough for all the emergency staff and camera crew.

Yep about 1min into Bangkok airport thing i was like "Ahhh" and turned it off.

We wondered that as well....late no-shows maybe?
