My first direct debit just went through today, and the bonus has been posted into my account at the same time. Going to cancel early next week, what description do you need to put into the email to cancel?

they will ask you to provide something in writing, signed. I just made a document along the lines of...'I (name) wish to cancel my insurance policy with zurich effective immediately'. Printed, signed, scanned and attached to email.

They haven't acknowledged my cancellation letter (signed scanned attached) sent last week yet. Oh well might have to phone soon and see what's happened to it.

Got a letter yesterday from them. Instead of acknowledging my cancellation it was a notice my $5 was overdue. I rang and asked what was happening, phone operator said it was a glitch and cancellation had been received and would shortly be actioned. Still a good deal but a bit irritating.

I presume this offer is no longer available? can't see any reference on any of the links posted in the thread.. only something about $0 premium for the first month.

My first payment posted today along with my points. Fingers crossed my wife's will go through in the next couple of days aswell. Should I wait for the second payment before cancelling my cover?

Haven't acknowledged mine either so will just setup a schedule to resend daily until they do. Either they eventually acknowledge or I have a wealth of evidence that they were informed.

I don't think I ever got a reply email. Just a letter in the mail a couple of weeks later saying it was cancelled.

They asked for something signed by me when I requested cancellation by email. I then sent a scan of that and their reply (a confirmation of the cancellation) came via mail.

Thanks for the response burmans. Did you use a different card and first cancel policy number 1? I've got a new policy now after cancelling the old one and applied with a different card but no bonus points have posted...

I tried the same, and haven't had any charges or points show up yet - my second one was from an AMEX Velocity, which I expected to either work or give me a charge but no points bonus (but nothing at all so far). I was sent different policy numbers.

The charge for my second card also took sometime but when it did show up, no bonus points along with it like the last time. Worth taking a $5 chance though
