After enquiring twice and being told no, I finally received a letter on Friday saying my points would be doubled! I hold Edge/Explorer/Platinum Charge.

Shame I didn't get this letter before I transferred 2,000,000 to Qantas for the 45% bonus.
Will preserve whatever I can build up before April though.

Did you already receive letters for the cards, and was this a separate letter? Or was this part of the charge letter?

I actually got a letter saying there would be no doubling. So this is just a subsequent letter with the exact wording with the doubling included.

Wait a minute...

So you go the no double letter, called twice and got told no double, and then randomly received a double letter?

That is correct. The second letter is dated 14 December. I ditched the old letter out of anger...

Weve had 4 letters. The only primary that has mentioned doubling is the Charge (which arrived number 3) despite the Edge being linked. I haven't received a letter about the Reserve which is also linked.

how long have you had the charge card?

I received a letter saying that the changes for the earn rate/transfer rate would be delayed for me until July due to me only recently getting an Explorer card. Interesting to see that Amex is, in some circumstances, actually being relatively considerate.

I agree, whilst none of us are excited by what's happened, Amex have handled this as 'fairly' as they could by giving us a long lead time/notice before the changes come into effect. Contrast that to some bad actors like Citi who unilaterally devalued without giving any notice before backing down and giving us 30 days.

online chatted to amex today for some other issues. double checked on my doubling of points with my explorer (i had previously been offered this when i tried cancelling on the phone). she confirmed this, gave me reference, and said that whatever i earn up to april 15, will be doubled on june 15.

I have edge/westpac altitude black and DJs black spending around 9k a month but nothing for me yet

Not long. About three months. But before the date the changes were announced.

Monthly spend about $50-100k. Business spend.
