It’s only for cards received after the Nov announcement date that the effective date is delayed

Where is the data point? Can't seem to find it

I have applied for charge last Thursday, received card Tuesday even with public holiday

Haven't activated yet, will try get double points or extended earn rate. My main card is the edge

How would the extended earn rate work?

I haven’t got it either but only had the card for a week....apparently it would come in a seperate letter. Can anyone confirm

question for those who got offered double points.

if you have both an Explorer card and "Getaway MR" and Plat charge with "Ascent premium MR"

since they are two different MR programmes, will they double both or merge the two after April?

Most likely if you hold both cards, all points will automatically become ascent premium. Whether not the points double or not depends on if received letter amex specifically stated that your point balance will double or not. If you don't have such letter, then it's highly unlikely you will get any doubling of points.

Been thinking about VS as well for their ANA and DL redemptions, especially as I'm US-based most of the year.

Good point but rubbish avails on VS and hard to use interface

It is not that bad. I mean nearly all my VS redemptions have been done by VS staffs, but you also have to do the same if you use SQ miles to redeem Thai or Virgin Australia, so same rubbish.

Is availability in J for partners airlines using VS miles difficult?

cove runs an awesome & vast empire.
guess he has a large fleet of business vehicles :)

That was funny but I had missed it.
I think we have about 30 business vehicles in total but we just have one each plus the sons car downstairs seeing he is in Madrid on long service leave.
I don’t plan to stop using Platinum Edge nor Ultimate but will look around after the change in April.
We are doing well with Amplify and World CCs as they have no exclusions that would bother us.
Getting rid of our bank loans has Mrscove very relaxed as ladies seem to worry about money more than males. Even though I made money out of the bank loans I just decided to tidy up.
Daft009 you would probably love the land tax, payroll tax, fringe benefits tax, quarterly ATO bills, BAS monthly but it does get so you have to be attentive on the 7th,21st and 28th days of most months.
The good news is my partners handle the two weekly wages tax remittances. That is 26 payments I don’t have to handle.
Get into business so you can live the dream someone said......

My feeling is there is no difference when claiming partners. VS metal was more difficult than say Singapore (but VS fly cross oceans which are always in demand anyway), and definitely no worse than Qantas ...

Thanks cove. Think I currently pay around 10% of what you pay. Wouldn't want anymore.. Otherwise I'd have to hire someone just to keep track of payments and which card to best use :p

Cant see it mentioned on the Amex forum but have just received an email giving 15-25% bonus on MR to Velocity until 15 March

15% up to 250K
20% up to 500K
25% over 500K

It still means you are giving away almost 20% or around 100,000 KF points for every 500k reward points transferred which equates to a single business class flight to Europe almost.

Would need to do own calculations

Might offset a bit by higher status earn on VA. As well as perceived value of higher status

Against that if you have Ascent Premium you already have VA lounge access and your MR points are going to be doubled in April offsetting the devaluation

I wont take it up on my non-Ascent account either as I value KF and AM higher than 1.15 VA
