What's the usual transfer time between Citi Prestige to Velocity ? transferred on week end and still nothing. Kris flyer took 2 days. tks

Hi All,

I have the citi signature now, so to sum up if I want maximum Krisflyer miles I should transfer between now and March 2016?

And after transferring miles to KF when does the account miles expire? 18 months or 36 months?

Thanks,
K.

Yes, and 36 months for KF, provided you have activity.

Thanks burmans. So if I transfer miles today to KF, the miles expires in 3 years. But what if after I transfer and no activity at all for 12 months does my KF account and miles gets cancelled?

To prevent miles expiring after three years you can take the hit and send to velocity in a ratio 1.35:1

You could send to velocity if points are at risk of expiring - velocity can book SQ flights too as well as etihad... but not suites apparently.

Ok thanks. I'm not worried about the 3 years expiry of miles from the time of transfer. More worried if I had miles in there and no activity for 12 months my account will be cancelled. As it has happened to me before when I had no miles and no activity for 12 months. Is it different if I had miles in the account?

yeah true - good question. My wife's account was cancelled with no miles because of the 12 months thing. They did email warning but thought it best to let it expire in case they do another 5000 point signup bonus for new accounts

I transferred from Suncorp Rewards (which is just Citi rewards with a branding skin) on Monday night at 11pm and the points have just landed today between 11am and 1pm.

I believe its 18 months but I'm a frequent accumulator/user so probably not the right person to ask.

Sub 48 hrs on both of my transfers this year from Citi to VFF.

So i take it all ongoing Signature card members will be zeroing balances on the week of 14th - 18th March to lock in the outgoing transfer rate?

KF miles do not cancel after 'no activity'. The 12 month rule only applies if you have an with 0 miles balance. In that case, the account will be closed after 12 months.

For accounts with positive balances, the miles will remain until the 3 year expiry.

Even better, and you can really extend that 3 years by a fair bit.

Calendar reminder already added. Just did a transfer leaving a 15000 points balance to ensure I can sweep the rest prior D(evalutation) day

ok, written notice just received by email covering mostly information that we had gleaned already:

Plus one additional item "We have changed the way we can vary your Rewards Terms and Conditions moving forward."

The full details are:

The changes will take effect from 18 March 2016 unless otherwise indicated and will affect you in the following ways:
1. BPAY transactions will no longer be eligible to earn reward Points.
2. The rate at which you can transfer Citi reward Points for Velocity Points or Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Miles will change, as will the minimum transfer amount.
3. From 18 January 2016, you will be charged an International Transaction Fee on transactions made with an overseas merchant in AUD. We currently charge this fee only on transactions made with overseas merchants in their local currency.
4. We will also be increasing this International Transaction Fee from 3.3% to 3.4% for Visa cardholders.
5. We have changed the way we can vary your Rewards Terms and Conditions moving forward.

Many thanks daveozsydney, appreciate your post #793 :D

no worries -the high flyer option I mentioned in that post as a 1.25:1 option has just had a devaluation announced to 1 per $ upto $10K spend then 0.5 per $ thereafter per month.

So Citi Prestige will be the better option for your spend levels AND it will just be a matter of time for all non amex products to be devalued.

I think citibank just got in first with changes (and copped a lot of flack for the way they announced it).

I'm sorry people but when is D day for Prestige 1-1?
I apologise for asking and not scrolling but the "enhancements" are coming faster than I can keep up with, having so many cards; and this thread is now 82 pages....
