IIRC doesn’t VA offer a (third rate) similar thing to CL? He’ll probably just get his staff to start booking VA.

They do, it’s called The Club.

But that is definitely not "third rate"!

When chased at the airport for comment after that infamous letter he wrote I think he was about to board VA flight. He could still use the CL lounge flying VA back then

Anyone else spot the hypocrisy of the senator's egg-boy comments?

“It may have only been an idiot with an egg this time but there is a continuum which begins with this, and ends with a fanatic with a gun or a bomb.”

Pity he didn't think about this before ...

“Saving industry one egg at a time”

The censure motion Made it

Easy for Qantas and
Got the Senator Eggspelled for
Gross remarks
Soon Queenslanders will vote him out

He might get more votes than he did at the last Election, however I don't think it will be enough for him to worry the scorers this time around. Hopefully he will be just a roadbump in the highway of our lives.

Roadbump is quite generous? :)

Good move by QF! Didn’t think they’ll have the balls to do it. Well done for standing against racism and religion hate

So when will QF take the same stand against the Greens aka De Natale and Hanson-Young. They conduct more discrimination and religion hate than anyone else in parliament.

When has Anning committed an act of illegal violence?

* Sigh *

So you can't see the unintended irony of the senator drawing a line between Egg Boy's minor assault and his future assassination, while being oblivious to the connection between his sort of anti-muslim hate speech and murderous right-wing nut jobs?

What am I saying .... of course you can't.
Whatt can I say. Those who play the game of being deliberately stupid (about the impacts of hate speech as well as a myriad of other things) run the risk that people may well just regard them as genuinely stupid!

QF shareholders might soon start wondering if they are getting value for the money they pay CEO, Alan Joyce, given his preoccupation with using his time and QF's corporate muscle to stomp on people who don't share his beliefs. Joyce's latest foray has been to threaten to withdraw its major sponsorship of Rugby Australia unless they sack Israel Folau for his social media comments. Insisting Folau is sacked from the Wallabies and also riding roughshod over the NRL not to let him play there either is a significant step up from just banning Anning from the CL.

Joyce only intends to stay at the helm till next year for QF's centenary so maybe it's time the Board insisted he stick to airline business or shove off - not that they would have the balls to do it.

I could be wrong but I really son't think this sort of issue occupies a lot of time. It's just another item on the agenda.

I suspect most Qantas shareholders are smart enough to realise that Qantas is one of the most profitable airlines in the world and so are quite happy with Alan Joyce's leadership!

The public appearance by a company which sells product directly to punters is important. If QF were seen to be immoral or amoral it’d likely hurt their bottom-line; there are more potential passengers that dislike the Aningses of this country than support them.

Joyce isn’t just pushing a personal agenda. He’s playing games with public perception of the company, for purely business purposes.

This is called 'brand'. It's nothing new, nor unique to Qantas. All major brands do the same. Yes of course it's ultimately about driving sales, but you need to develop your brand to your potential consumers. They want to feel 'good' about the product they purchase.
