Revoking Privileges from those Voicing Opinions Contrary to Yours

Simple fact is that there’s probably not many people who will actually stop flying QF if they perceive them to be virtue signalling. While they are actually gaining a significant amount of goodwill from people who agree that corporations need to be good citizens.

As long as they keep executing well - same sex marriage was an enormous success for them to take an active role in. But if you don’t execute well then it can blow up in your face (Virgin’s vetrans mess as a prime example).

I read that, I thought about Royal Brunei. Would an openly gay person be executed in Brunei if he/she just simply board Royal Brunei in Australia and transit?

No.

The punishment is for sexual acts. Unless the passener engaged in homosexual sex on board the aircraft or in transit, the law won't affect them.

Aren't we forgetting that 50 peaceful people were murdered by the Scumbag, and the senator's response was to label them as "Muslim Fanatics" who were somehow responsible for their own deaths.

The Senator did not label the victims as Muslim Fanatics. This is the problem with much of the Senator Anning rhetoric, he gets accused of saying 'something' but nobody actually quotes him. Because they cant. Its easier to inflame this by making up what he said.

And apparently the law only applies to Muslims

Under Zina Liwat, it does appear to apply to Any One - Page 1709.
Also (not a legal expert here), you can just get accused of Liwat and the conviction would stand. For example, an openly gay person transiting Brunei can be accused of Liwat attempt (similar to the old "proposition" accusation/defence.)

Not an legal expert here. Just want to make sure my family and friends are safe when choosing to fly/transit.

I strongly believe in allowing someone to have their say within the rules of “ speech with responsibility “ . Would I accept a handshake or a beer from this individual? No I wouldn’t but that is my personal response.

Good to see someone posted what he said. No, he did not label the victims as Muslim fanatics, but he did quite deliberately conflate the two which has very much the same effect.

As for making up what he said, no need, I doubt people could make up this stuff!

Just saw the Chris Uhlmann interview with Josh Frydenberg, and the latter used the term "virtue signalling" to describe the oppositions' climate change policy.

I now understand the term completely.

But on a brighter note - it was refreshing to see Simon Birmingham tearing shreds off the senator, and Mathias Cormann spoke with genuine compassion about the victims in Christchurch. Now if they could just un-lobotomise Peter Dutton then maybe, just maybe, the age of dog-whistling will be over in Australia.

Well done Qantas for distancing yourself from Fraser Anning - remaining close may have caused brand and reputational damage.

He may not have CL status any more, but he's likely to be P1 or at very least Platinum, so he'll still have access to the Business Lounges (domestically) and First Class Lounges for international. But he's less likely to have anybody wanting to frequent with him, apart from his staff.

The aforementioned article has a glaring error:

We all know it's the Qantas International F Lounge.

Good move by QF! Didn’t think they’ll have the balls to do it. Well done for standing against racism and religion hate

IIRC doesn’t VA offer a (third rate) similar thing to CL? He’ll probably just get his staff to start booking VA.
