Yes he was charged with assault for giving AJ a pie in the face. The fellow that threw an egg at julia Gillard but missed was charged with assault.
but the lad who egged Anning is a hero.
I agree that Egg-Boy also committed assault.

I was talking about "apples" and you take the discussion off on a tangent to one about "oranges" and I'm the one who's supposedly naive when you apparently can't even comprehend the discussion point???

Apples? Huh? I wasn't even talking to you.

Nice to see AFF is as weird as ever.

So, who draws the line? the Militant left? the extreme right? who is to be the final arbiter?
IMHO if you force people underground, then you're not silencing them, just removing them from public view.

It’s up to each business to draw the line according to it's moral standards. In my view racism should not be tolerated and should also not be debated because there are no right forms of racism, they are all wrong.
No matter which political party it comes from, once it’s written on official Australia parliament document it represents our country badly. Removing these people from public view is not the full solution but it’s a start.

As soon as you draw a line you are making a personal judgement. Which of course is what we do on a personal level. But that isnt what democracy is all about.
Where is the line?

If 51% of people think something is right does it make the other 49% of people wrong? What if 75% think something is right does it make the other 25% wrong? What if 90% think something is right does it make the other 10% wrong?

The answer to each of those is no. It gets even more complicated when there are multiple possibilities and the majority is quite a low % but that can change from suburb to suburb, from city to city and from country to country.

Long live freedom of speech.

What is racism?

I may refer to fellow human as being a cough because that is how I specifically perceive them to be by their actions.

If they are Caucasian is it racist to do so?

Is it racist if that same person identifies as Aboriginal or Muslim?

Ha - when I read the title I thought this was referring to AFFers being banned because they got too feisty - carry on - as you were

Same here.

So I guess that if Michael Daley is elected Premier on Saturday in NSW he shouldn't be invited to be a Chairman's lounge member after saying that Asians with PHDs are taking the jobs of our children in Sydney in your opinion?

Should Anning have said what he did? No
Should he be allowed to say it? Yes
Should he be allowed to say it and suffer no consequences? No

One of my favourite saying about freedom of speech is that it's "freedom of speech, not freedom from consequences". But even then that a moot point since we don't actually have freedom of speech in this country.

So should QF take action against someone who has publicly said things they don't agree with? Well since CL membership is a literal gift in every sense of the word, why should QF be forced to continue to provide such a gift to someone they don't agree with? If they said they would no longer fly him as a pax then that'd perhaps be a different story.

Not familiar with NSW politics but that guy sounds intelligent and charming. Reminds me of a nice lady from QLD... It’s up to QF to decide who gets invited into their exclusive club and who gets booted out.

Let's not forget, While CL membership is about position as we know, Pollies, CEO's and the like, BUT it is after all l(ultimately) inked to spend!
Senator Anning actually spent a shed load in travel last year according the the SMH, it would be a bit rich to reward one of your biggest (Govt) spenders with a black ball on CL membership.
im not advocating any specific position here, just pointing out the conundrum

Oh please, a shed load? He spent $560,000 odd of taxpayer money on ALL of his travel. Taxis, commcars, hotels etc. Not just Qantas. That is hardly anything, when apparently CL membership is set at $1 mil in travel budget. Not a big spender and not even part of the government just some cross bench riff raff.

Reading about this i noted in one article that several of our politicians have not accepted their CL invitations.A list of these should be published.

Can we also note that QF merely said that they were reviewing the status of the senator. For all we know they ran the idea past legal who told them it's not worth it...

…. and given the window when he can actually continue to make use of CL membership. Maybe another 3 months or so, except for a miracle?

Never underestimate the hate or racism of the "put upon" who think their welfare, housing, pensions. medicare ect are only for their like minded white aussie born selves and not be shared with new Australians.

Hes going to have high numbers, the ignorance is strong.

Well he's already in campaign mode, I guess.

I doubt he will get high numbers in the election.Only elected as he was next on the One Nation ticket when Malcolm Roberts was forced out then he resigned from One Nation.
Next he joined the Katter Party and got expelled from that.So he really has soiled his nest.
And just a note-the 19 first preferences he got below the line is totally irrelevant as he was elected because the fellow above him was expelled.
