slightly OT: With REX's share price falling below 0.60 to 0.59, surely either their Private Equity funder/co-owner PAG (or a competing Private Equity firm) may be running the ruler for a takeover bid. Can't see Bain getting involved with REX due to their ongoing Trade Sale negotiations and IPO preparations for VA.
How does a takeover bid work when PAG has this deal in progress for $150m over xx years?

Does a takeover offer benefit them?

I’m no expert in this area so happy to be corrected but, it may be something like this…

At the current share price of $0.59 PAG would own about 70% of Rex after converting. Three important things to consider.

1. PAG Gains Majority Control: By converting the notes at the lower share price, PAG would own a significant majority of Rex, allowing them to have substantial control over the company’s decisions.

2. Significant Dilution for Existing Shareholders: The original shareholders’ ownership percentage would be drastically reduced.

3. Potential for Resistance: This level of dilution might face resistance from existing shareholders and could require careful navigation of regulatory and shareholder approval processes.

how was business class? Was there an enhanced meal service, or the standard hot main + hot bread roll + chocolate + pudding?
PDB was either OJ or water (much to the disappointment of the passenger next to me), meal was a ham and cheese toastie (small, but very tasty) served with a mint chocolate. Alternative was a meze plate. Just before landing (an hour or so) we got cinnamon scrolls ('escargots') with another chocolate (although I managed to grab two). Beverages were wine or beer, no spirits and surprisingly good (by airline standards) plunger coffee.

Was on RQP so it was the Virgin hard product. Service was amazing and very friendly, it seems they got the "A team" out for the occasion as three of the flight attendants were described as cabin managers and both pilots were Captains. There was mention of the occasion via the PA and we also had a model B737 waiting at our seat for J pax (although mine broke when I put it together this morning!). They also gave away 'goodie bags' in Perth with Rex paraphernalia and another with Melbourne tourism stuff on arrival.

Back on topic, REX's 'soviet era' marketing isn't going to help them on their ADL-PER route in the short term (if at all) which is operated by one of the subsidiaries (NJE) on a regional jet.
I imagine the average person who saw it on the news would be quite confused when the story talks up Rex but all the footage is of a plane with NJE written on it.
