We can always stop again on the way home for afternnon tea

And if it's after the wine tasting, I may be emboldened to treat you all to what I can remember from my German degree :D

Kuchen, Schlagsahne, Sachertorte usw :p

So you're going to force us to eat cake, beat the cream out of us and taunt us !

Total attendees is 12........ who gets the shadow?

well it will be only a shadow one way, I'm sure on the return leg you'll put your wine there buzz... After all this is the reason we are all going with you aren't we... so there is 12 of us so that means a dozen dozen doesn't it ;)

Just a quick question relating to return time. I'm not sure what time penegal is leaving (get the feeling he's not leaving on the Sunday) but I need to be back at the airport around 6:30ish for a QF flight back to MEL. How long do we have the bus for, and depending on what time it gets back, is it possible to drop me off at the airport (if not, that's fine just need to plan around it).

There's a very good chance I will not be purchasing anything in that quantity. If I do, that's what 'oh sir you've qualified for free shipping because you've bought half the cellar' is for ;)

We have the bus till 5pm so will definately be back by then.
If time allows then yes, the bus will certainly drop off at the airport otherwise taxis are plentiful where the bus stops in the CBD.
From the CBD it is ~ 15 min to the airport.

Great thanks. I have walked from ADL to the CBD before :)

Finally I have an answer - we are available that day!

But rather than change the bus, we can drive up and join you if not for the tasting then for lunch if you are able to add us to the booking. It will actually be quicker for us to drive to the barossa than catch the train to town :-)

Now that's what I call great thinking by the Romeys' - bring car with a box trailer to carry home the booty

Charles Melton and Rockford are now confirmed for tasting and lunch for 14 pax.

Note to Romneys - if you would like to meet us for coffee @ Lyndoch see shintaro's post for details otherwise see you at CM 11.00am

Is there a contingency plan on the off chance that Drewbles' flight to ADL isn't on time?

I've only just gotten around to reviewing this thread and it sounds incredibly intriguing.

I can't figure out if the larger bus was decided on or not.. are we out of places?

should I be even a tiny bit upset that I will miss this because I'll be in Hawaii?

(probably)

Maybe Buzzard can squeeze one in? Would be good to catch up :)

Sadly the door has been bolted but it already looks like I need to organise another visit next vintage (year) and leave the numbers open.
In all honesty I doubted getting 7 takers and here we are at 14, + more interest.

You can go to Hawaii anytime but Rockford with 14 AFFers? (ok, not all AFF people)
Platinum for next year Newk?

Next year it will be then! I am quite pleased that the event has had so many takers - we really do need more AFF wine events!

Don't worry drewbles - I'll see you on the 19th at Yum Cha! :)

Will do forgot about that!

I'll nail down a new location for it next week and finalise numbers for that too :)

all I can say is well done Buzz!
Remember to try their secret wine for stonewallers only

edit to add: and what a pity we couldn't join FroggerAdl for lunch on NYE at Rockpool. It is great that stuff is being organised, and subsequently attended, on here. I do my bit by some attendance but cut me some slack re the organising bit :)
