Unable to use OLCI either.

I know the important part is the event but seating is also important and should have been taken care of via the Platinum One team....

Maybe it has been taken care of ;) , be careful to avoid biting the hand that feeds you I suggest!

Maybe it has been taken care of in which case I would be happy.

At the moment my booking is still showing 9C and I cannot attempt to change it.

It would be churlish to complain, and I'm happy with what they give me.

However, with such a bunch of expert flyers, there's always going to be an urge to fiddle around a bit! I explained it to my wife, "Well supposing your sewing group gave twenty people a plain top for them to wear at the next meeting. They'd all take in a seam, maybe embroidery their initials, adjust the collar a bit..."

I checked in, but I used QF mobile, which of course means no seat change.

Looking at the seat map, I think I have no chance of a better seat than current, which is exit row.

Whether that was an in-flight experience limiting move or not remains to be seen.

On another note, what time are the ex-BNE crowd planning to arrive at the airport? I need guesting into the J Lounge :p

What's worrying me is not the potential DYKWIA horror of 9C or even 23E, but " 'staff' booking not checked in" = first to be bumped by some airport staffer trying to help a paying pax. And there are simply no seats out of ADL tomorrow morning so the bumping likelihood may be higher than usual.

Mobile checkin doesn't work either, and the plat line tried to fix it but couldn't. Apparently it's on "airport control". Hence fear of bumping.

Regardless of where the ticket came from, last thing anyone wants to do is sit between two overflowing travellers in a middle seat on the way to lunch.

Seeing as a big part of AFF and status is getting access to better seats, I don't see the issue about a bit if a moan they can't get good seats.

They're not asking for row 4, they'd rather do it themselves. Seems reasonable.

Privileges on a paid ticket should not be expected on one that is given gratis in my view. Just like staff travel its likely the result will be whats left after the paying passengers have had their go, can you imagine the complaints if WPs were bumped from their allocated seats by someone on a freebie??

Happens a lot. It's just not proven.

Some posts aggressively detracting from the spirit of this event have been moderated.

I have no idea where I am sitting, but what the heck. I think last time the seats were marked "must fly" in the system. I am sure that everyone will get there, one way or t'other.
