Mobile checkin doesn't work either, and the plat line tried to fix it but couldn't. Apparently it's on "airport control". Hence fear of bumping.

If it is duty travel, they'll get you there....

What is so wrong with allowing me to choose aseat on these flights >> edited <<

Entirely understandable, IMO. Like choosing the dessert we want at the meal. It might be a freebie, but we all have our preferences.

Has Rockpool put up the map for the table seating yet? Is there a lie-flat mode?

I have no idea where I am sitting, but what the heck. I think last time the seats were marked "must fly" in the system. I am sure that everyone will get there, one way or t'other.
So long as I'm seated inside the plane and they don't bump the pilot.

My last Qantas flight was a hop from Melbourne and, fair dinkum, they fed me bread and water. I can put up with a lot if it's only a half hour or so, and there's an exquisite lunch and pleasant company at the other end.

On a serious point I do not recall seating at Rockpool being allocated last year (based on a re-read of this and the other thread I don't seem to recall much).

If you get a QF or VA complimentary, the ticket wont have seat allocation privileges, it locks in a seat which is determined at T-3 or thereabouts, as noted already its duty travel meaning you need to get on the plane but the system still places revenue tickets in the priority box.

I actually meant at Rockpool and have updated my post - I am not being provided with any transport to the event...

I am sure most have their travel to/from lunch organise already.

I will more than likely catch 400 bus to Mascot station and then train to city.

Hope no delays.

I managed to select a seat for tomorrow via more unorthodox means.

Who knows - it may not stick (just as much as my OLCI this morning), but we'll see. Either way, I'm getting to Sydney.

I've had a comp ticket from QF before (late last year).

It booked into a fully flex bucket. While I didn't earn any points or SCs, I successfully waitlisted for a points upgrade and prior to that had 4C selected (737-800).

There must be varying levels of comp tickets.

But I digress :)

Hope you guys enjoy the lunch. I can't make it (so didn't enter), but I expect to hear all about it :)

Have fun regardless of the seating :)

That's what I recall also. There was no pre-arranged seating at the previous lunch. We sat where we wanted. I had the delightful Emily Howard next to me so we could chat about lady's things ;)

not me, I am hoping someone is really well organised and I will tag along

So are the WA and other overnighters on their way already?

I haven't tried any funny business on my booking, but did notice this morning that my FF number had been added (pretty sure it wasn't there before), but no option to check in, select seats or upgrade (didn't expect the latter). However I did mobile checkin and it went through fine and allocated me 20C - which I'm more or less happy with given my falling status and the fact that I imagine we have low priority tickets.

In any case, looking forward to seeing you all there - very excited!
