Yeah, the poverty was a bit left field (think that was just us at the time) but I know my father took us off to brethren meetings in the 1950s. He was on a mission (pardon the pun) to find a family religion for us. We were also in country Victoria so things may have been different then. I think we did not stay long.
My wife answered a job for an English Teacher in the paper - it turned out to be teaching at an EB school... She was well paid at private school rates and they looked after her in the 18 months she spent there. I ended up going to some school functions and they were really nice kids when you talked to them. I can also confirm the ones I met are mostly successful business owners.
I got an email noting my profile puts me in Sydney and could i get there under my own steam. Fortunately i can walk up Hunter St!
