Sorry to hear that Jock28, we were looking forward to seeing you.
About to PM another lucky person and see if they would like to take your place.

It turns out I have to fly to MEL on Tuesday for work.

I have asked Ana to offer it to another AFFer. I'm gutted!

Thanks. Hope I get lucky next time round. Flying SYD-MEL on Monday and back Thursday in case there's a consolation prize ;)

I'm yet to change my flights, because I need as much of the MON in PER as possible, and I refuse to fly on a 767 if I can avoid it.

Hoping to move to QF566 there, and QF583 back. I believe V8Statesmen is planning to move to this flight as well.

I don't know about gold-plated stretch limos, but I'm pretty sure we can all kick in together to organise something. And very likely organise it back again whenever the lunch finishes. Gotta be cheaper than taking a bunch of taxis.

I'm planning to use Uber to go to from Airport and Restaurant/Hotel. It's fixed at AUD 65 each way, and should have room for at least 2-3 of you on the way back to the airport. If you want to buddy up, enjoy a cheap ride in a decent car, then send me a PM.

I'm going to reach out to the Uber Sydney team tonight - see if they might be able to swing some credits our way if anyone would like to try them out for this event. Again, let me know if you're interested so I can sling you the codes if I manage to score some.

Your inbox was full when I tried, but I'm keen.

I'd be happy to share a ride back to the airport, as I'm assuming I'd be a little shabby to catch the train back!

Here's hoping for a good morning in for the Sydney airport. The way back? meh, a delay would be fine. :)

A standard cab should be around $35 and for $65 you could get a HC plated car rather than Uber.

Have we missed you from the confirmed attendees GPH?

I was in NZ when the invite came, and was out of email range for a few days, then I simply didnt know there was a thread. well until that is a friend who saw it toild me about it.

so short answer is , yes I am attending, will be flying down with YoYoMa , Awilcockson, anat01, and others (5 of us in all I believe)

Nothing wrong with the train. except on a per capita cost basis it falls when there are a good number of us to share a ride.
I seem to recall Mrs GPH having a Biz card from a nice limo driver, where the city / airport run is not much different (in cost) from a cab ride. I shall investigate and report back

FWIW, I use this guy when I need to take a car city / airport or v.v. Always found him friendly, reliable, $50 (one way).

Attn all lunch attendees: Check your PM's when you get a chance and get back to me.

Per my post last night, have been conversing with Uber's Sydney GM, and they've come to the party (and then some) for the AFF crowd.

What does a return trip on the train to the city cost these days?

$15.90 each way. double for a day return. Otherwise a wolli creek day return for $8.80 plus a weekly gate pass for $18 if they still do them.

That is daylight robbery. I can see why people are mentioning pooling for taxis.
