I've been to NFI many a time. When MrsK says, where are we? NFI has been my response - particularly when trying to navigate traffic, driving on the 'wrong' side of the road, in a manual car, it's raining, and so on...
That's what's interesting about using Sat Nav. You are always at NFI but never lost. :)

Off topic, but I tried my first no map, satnav trip through Europe in about 2005. Concluded - we know where we are but not our location or whats around us. Bought a paper map at the next petrol station.

I love GPS but I bought a local map just today 😊. Just think, all the names and all the roads on one view, zoomable in all directions and at all scales instantly!!

The Charles Bridge is incorrect and as Airwin said they are all in Germany.

Actually I though it was a much more 'earthy' shortening of a phrase.

Yes agree! It’s changed significantly with Google maps etc. Historically, I had an independent and not overly reliable Bluetooth GPS receiver connected to my Nokia back in mid 90‘s. Interestingly one of the useful things about GPS is that one can just take off to different places on the route that divert you, and seem interesting, then get back on track with the GPS.

Matthias Ulungura on Bathurst Island - it’s taken me this long to find it 🤣
Yes! They are making a new movie about it at present- this is my favourite war story of all time

I walked after him and grabbed his wrist near gun. He got proper big fright. I take revolver from his right side near his knee. Then I walk backwards pointing gun, I say "Stick 'em up, two hands, no more holding hands on head."

It’s a fascinating story - I’m glad I now know about it

Ok it seems that no-one is going to get the last one. It is photo of the memorial to the "Captain of Kopenick". He used the 'Prussian love of an uniform" by dressing up as a Prussian Captain and then ordering some passing by soldiers to follow him as he went to the Kopenick city hall. Then he 'arrested' the Mayor and Treasurer for irregularities and demanded to be given the towns funds for safekeeping before marching off with his loot. He was eventually caught and imprisoned but released early after mass public amusement and support for his ridiculing of the Prussian military ethos.

There have been several films made about this event and they still have a local play about it.
