That's a lot of batteries. I remember using one like that at a friend's once and the battery fell out into the soup
batteries are locked up inside pretty well... so at least no risk of landing in your soup (unless you drop the whole thing in, of course)
 
Sigh - some people have too much time on their hands. Spend a few dollars at Woolies for these.

No batteries to go flat. They can be refilled and are light enough to take on holidays. MrsK is a cracked pepper afficiando and has been known to take it out of her bag to use at venues who can't offer her a pepper grinder.
 
We have Peugeot pepper grinder - bought at Essential Ingredient years ago - still as good as new. Salt grinder is the el cheapo Maxwell Williams I think and also still going after many years (think it was originally part of a pair but the pepper one died).

I've commented on this in the past. Many people don't eat enough salt - especially the iodised version. Eat a bit more salt if like me you get leg cramps. After adding a bit of salt on advice of vascular surgeon friend , the cramps went away. He gets a few pts come to him with this complaint - the original thought was poor circulation. My Bp didn't go up.

And iodine important for kids development and reducing incidence of goitre
