We do. It has a chrome bowl.
ours is Chrome as well. I did prefer the old 'glass' bowl but was always careful when I carried it. NY daughter made the mistake of trying to move the mixer with a toddler in one of her arms.

My Mums Kenwood has 2 frosted glass bowls, one was broken in the 80s but we managed to find a replacement from someone when theirs died. She only uses it to make dip and whip cream for pavlova, just has beaters no whisks or dough hook.

Unfortunately it wasn't just the glass bowl that was broken. The internal gearing and motor all suffered.

Mine was a wedding gift. It's almost an antique. 😂. I don't do much baking so let's just say it's - pristine. Now I just beat up scone dough. Used to make beautiful pavlovas too.

Doesn't anyone else use a Kenwood mixer these days? Our first one, with a white ceramic bowl, lasted over 40 years until our daughter dropped it on a tiled floor. I replaced it with a new one and it works fine.

Yes. MrsDaver6 has one. Going strong after 10+ years. Like some others have said, my mum has one too that's going strong after 50+ years.

I got my sunbeam mixmaster for and engagement present 45 years ago.
Still going strong, it has a large and small white glass bowl and two beaters.
The light no longer works, but otherwise going strong and I’ve used it lots.
I love it. It’s like an old friend 😘

An electric goanna masquerading as a baby grand !
In expectation of a quieter life I also bought an electric piano as few years back, I had no idea other than being hooked by a prominent piano salesman who enjoys a big u tube audience.
Sadly the goanna sleeps with the guitars as my life remains outdoors keeping the farm in order

Love it!

In other news, my Holman wx1 wifi tap timer has died and I think I need to make the cut over to a permanent retic system. Thinking the Holman wx8 based on tuya integration to home assistant, but all systems (b-hyve etc) seem to have their criticisms on reviews so I'm not sure whether there's a perfect answer.

Temple Webster dutch oven review, pretty sure Ive gotten my monies worth out of this $60 purchase. I picked this one as its rated to 350c although my bakes are at 220-230c.

I mixed the flour last night (no knead recipe) with a wooden spoon so no machine needed, overnight in the fridge, this morning I put in the dutch and by 8.30am its cooling. Figured this cost about $3 as the electricity is free

Looks great. Stretch and folds?
If you use a piece of baking paper inside the pan you have something (the corners) to lift the bread out with. When you drop the dough into the hot pan throw an ice cube in to create steam.

If you want to make the mix yourself and I added mixed grains

Put salt in the flour (I added grains) and mix with a whisk
Put yeast in water and give it about 10mins
Put water and yeast in flour mix and stir. Ive found the handle of the wooden spoon works better than a dough wisk.
Mix together until theres no flour on the bottom of the bowl, usually takes a couple of mins
Once mixed, let sit on the bench for about 20-30mins
I then take out the mix, lightly oil the bowl and put the mix back in the bowl, cover with plastic wrap and put in the fridge.
Next morning I put the bowl on the bench for about 30mins
After 30mins, I punch down the dough with a light hand fold and roll into a ball and put on baking paper
Put dutch oven in the oven and set temp to 230c
Once oven at 230c, put paper and dough in dutch oven and put light slice/cut along bread roll and put lid on and into oven for 30mins
Take off lid after 30mins and bake another 10-15mins
Remove from oven, using baking paper to lift out, put bread on wire rack to cool

If you want to save yourself hassle mixing your own flour etc, buy a bread mix and just add the yeast and water, stir ect and do the above

Ive also started adding things to my dough, this is feta, sundried tomato and olives

Oh and if using the dutch oven, you dont need to steam water for crust as that comes from the steam inside the dutch. Apparently thats why dutch oven lids have these dimples on the lid

But, i did add a pan of water on this bake as it was in a loaf pan and it was a really nice crust so will be doing again on the weekend

This was an experiment and the swirl separated inside but you can see the crust. I have to figure out why it separated

Did I mention I bought a ice maker machine for the office ice coffee drinkers?

Only $100 from Kogan to see the interest etc and people are loving it. It only takes 8mins to produce its first batch of ice, you put 1.2ltrs of water in it so no overflowing as I refused to plumb it and it can make 12kgs of ice in a day if youre interested. I might buy a more expensive, bigger one for next summer but in the meantime people are happy in the office and I dont think its the coffee doing that

So I've had my eye on a Dyson Supersonic Nural™ Intelligent hair dryer since they launched. I usually let my hair air dry but I've been trying to embrace my curls of late and all the curly girl websites say this gives least frizz when setting.

It retails for $749, but their website says they have Best Price Guarantee, but have wildly different prices for each colours from $579 - $749. Anyway Amazon Black Friday sale dropped today and they are selling the same for $540.

Used the chat feature and Dyson Price matched but of course when ordering from Dyson direct you also get a free case, brush and hair clips; plus can return for free within 45 days (dyson provide free postage for returns) if unhappy for any reason.

I ordered the only downside being that because it was manually processed i miss out on the 3 QF FFPs per $. But If i see a better price elsewhere on black friday sales over the next 6 week or it doesn't work for me I will return it.

I was also tempted to try the Belisima Diffon Supreme Ionic XL which amazon has for $175. Which I might go for if the dyson causes frizz.

So if you are after any Dyson products I suggest checking out Amazon (or other sites) and if you find a better price ask Dyson to price match so you get the bonus freebies.

ETA - confirmation came through with an address error so I called up to get this fixed and they through in another freebie (some product) for the inconvenience so maybe best to ask for the price match over the phone (aussie based call centre whereas the online chat seemed to be overseas somewhere).

Like $492.15 direct from Dyson....? You won't get the FF points on this one either, but I can confirm it's obtainable at this price (source: I bought one as a Christmas gift a few days ago).
