Roomba, Dysons, Thermomix and other household appliances

I had my own adventure with a very simple household device last night when I cooked some corned beef. We have had this pressure cooker for near enough to 50 years and last night was only the second time it has blown off the weight on the steam vent. There was no sound of it 'dancing' it just suddenly shot off. We only have standard height ceilings so the jet of steam actually reached the ceiling plus the front of some overhead cupboards. It took me about 20 minutes to clean everything up. I restarted the cooker and this time it all worked normally - a bit of 'dancing' and hissing to let you know that the pressure was up and once I turned the gas down it cooked perfectly normally. I am intrigued as to what went wrong the first time.

Im glad all is OK.

I admit that a pressure cooker isnt for me, Im too nervy around it. My mum cooked with one all the time and I only remember once the lid coming off. I miss her stuffed artichokes that was cooked in the pressure cooker, they were amazing

I don't use it often, mainly just for corned beef but it really does a great job with that. I have had to replace the large rubber O Ring and the small relief valve after 50 years. Simple is good.

An 'I love Lucy' show right there! Gosh. Frightening. Imagine if it was tomato based. Murder scene! And that colour stains badly. Umm, upgrade?
