Look what we can do? Especially the 2 wake threads.

Perhaps you are right and I am seeing totally wrong.

It is no different to 20 WP's booking a JQ flight and going to the lounge. just happened that people knew each other and they sat together.

Qantas have said in the past they have no issues with the Lounge runs as it was a PR activity for them - people who never saw the F lounge for it and several went for WP status.

Not flying this week and getting withdrawal symptoms so will try to use Anytime access. Either that or you may be able to guest me. ;)

Hardly playing by the rules here, is it? And then you turn around and rant about people "sticking it to Qantas" for merely playing by Qantas' rules.

Interesting dichotomy there.

Yes this has been going on for some time

I take your point Nick and perhaps I am wrong in thinking that gloating about $9 price matches is a bad thing.

I don't think there's been any gloating, and I certainly paid more than $9!

A few may have gloated but many paid more than $9 for their ticket too John

Great comments regarding the Chairman Lounge being dropped. I have been overlooked numerous times for this special card due to "others" in management who are deemed by our overall group manager to be more important to Qantas than the bum in seats flyers. In the last 3-4 years, the majority of our company (that are in my vision) who are Chairmans lounge invitees are not budget controllers, fly possibly 1/10th of what I do and frequently in a lower cabin especially if too stupid to negotiate a business class policy on employment and in most cases wouldn't achieve Gold status if left to their own devices.
Gee, Clearly you're not as powerful as you think you are then

A F lounge using JQ for me cost at least $300, rising upwards if I overnighted in Sydney or Melbourne.
In most (not all) cases, the tag flights to and from sydney or Melbourne were on Qantas. I am glad that people think that $300 is chump change...

Do you seriously think I would pay $32 to get out to the airport to try out Anytime access?

Does the wink at the end of the statement have a different meaning for you?

Given that you interpreted a flippant remark plus smiley as a "personal attack" the other day I'm surprised to see you even asking this question...

Qantas have said in the past they have no issues with the Lounge runs as it was a PR activity for them - people who never saw the F lounge for it and several went for WP status.

When a WP buys J ticket and brings a non WP guest to introduce the F lounge, that's a good PR for Qantas.

A group of WP's who buy cheap JQ tickets and bring their friends to wine and dine in the F lounge is not a good PR for Qantas.

In fact, it's a great example QF can use in the future when asked why they cancelled JQ access (which I hope they won't).

However, a few of the original big runs commemorated something, such as removal of ATA or the final QF tag flight to ADL.

Considering the Jetstarisation of routes, where loyal high flyers effectively lose service and benefits, you can't really blame then for wanting to make a day of it once in a while with QF picking up the tab.

In a sense it's all related.

If this does come true, I guess we'll all have a F-lounge run in "commemoration" of the access soon to be lost.

rumour 2 is so open ended it is hard to see what can be confirmed or denied. I really can't see anything being taken away from WPs in the F lounge, although maybe something could be added for F passengers:)

How about a double F lounge maybe behind smoky glass, call it the 'F U lounge' for real F passengers and another one for WP1's and another one for CL's and a Champagne, caviar and oyster bar for real F passengers who are also WP1 and a Joel Robuchon restaurant for real F passengers who are also CL members. Not sure where to fit non QF OWE's though. Also, I want a shoe shine stand, a cigar bar and a Burgundy cave a Hammam and a 25m swimming pool. A helicopter service from the CBD would also be a good addition.

now these are much more pleasant rumours - if only Qantas had any money....

Why a 25m pool when you can have a man-made beach with palm trees and hammocks with personal butlers on call to fetch food and drinks in an instant while they're arranging to have red carpets rolled out between where you'll be getting off the buggy and the L1 door of your flight? :)
