Last day in Zurich, decided to go on all day bus / train trip to Jungfrau. Best decision of the trip.

You will never forget this trip up to the amazing world of Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe – UNESCO-named World Heritage Park of the Swiss Alps. A guided scenic coach tour first takes you through enchanting landscapes to the magnificent mountain world of the Bernese Oberland. After a short interlude in Interlaken you reach Lauterbrunnen where the trip onwards and upwards continues in the modern cogwheel railway through idyllic scenery to Kleine Scheidegg, located immediately at the foot of the imposing Eiger North Face. You continue ever upwards by train past the Eiger North Face station where the husky dogs are bred, all the way through the mountain to the highest railway station in Europe – Jungfraujoch at 11 333 ft /3454 m. This wonderworld of eternal snow and ice is absolutely stunning. Visit the Ice Palace and its sculptures or enjoy the breathtaking views from the Sphinx look-out terrace over the Aletsch Glacier, the longest ice stream in Europe, to the surrounding mountain peaks of the neighbouring countries. Your admiration for this spectacle of nature will know no bounds! If you’re peckish, there are 4 restaurants to satisfy your hunger. The trip down will take you to Grindelwald where your coach awaits you for the return to Zürich. Jungfraujoch is situated at a very high altitude. Dress warmly and wear sunglasses!
