Found out the hard way a couple of months ago that QF only gives max Y (flexible economy) SC on MH flights between Australia - KUL - Europe (so 30 SC for a J flight SYD-KUL)

100 SC J KUL-PEK sounds about right as it is intra-Asia the earn is not kneecapped

Yes if you want proper status credits for QF you'll need to do QF to SIN and then 3K to KL.

Flying 3K (Jetstar Asia) on a base fare will not earn you any QF points or QF SC.
You need one of their plus bundle.
If you book with MH from SIN to KUL, then you tend to pay a bit more, but are guaranteed to earn QF points and QF SC, still bit low in Y though, but its up to you to chase up fare difference, flying MH/3K.
Some 3K flights might carry a QF flight number, but you are still effectively booking on the 3K/JQ Au website, so would still need a plus bundle.
MH is all in one fare.
Even if you go to Fly with Australia’s most popular airline | Qantas US and pick the Au Qantas website, to do the booking, it pushes you to the Jetstar Singapore website.
