Scams like these

I've had this pop up today on my iPad. Call me a cynic but I hardly believe that I am Apples' lucky visitor today - but it won't let me do anything else other than pressing "yes" which of course I am dead against giving them what I want.

How do I expunge that website from being able to post that in the future?

Had that on my iphone the other day. Go into safari settings, advanced, clear cache and also clear history/cookies. Got rid of it for me.

99.99999999999% a scam.

But, and especially for those less adamant, you can resort to calling the Apple Customer Support number by doing a search quite easily. For example a very nasty scam happens where somehow the expiry date of your main CC is known (or it is just random spam scam attempt but some have been from hacked CC details). They then send an email stating as your CC is soon to expire and click the link to update your details.

NEVER click any link regardless for anything financially related.

Indeed I did - and doing very well in the Old Boys AFL tipping comp at present :D

As I know Pushka, it's not a trick question. Anyway, I know where she works :D

:o

We were planning a move to Brisbane and had the boys all signed up for Churchie.

I reckon my apple account has been locked five times this week.

I must have recently unsubscribed to a spam mail that collects emails. I get 50+ blue pills, russian ladies, tesla, apple emails a day currently.

My life is boring compared to your life.

I get about 2-3 spam emails a week and think that is 2-3 too many. I would go nuts if I had 50+ spam/scam emails a day.

I have noticed a real trend in SCAM emails, and that is the use of a very long narrative:

Dear Friend,

I hope you are fine over there in your country. I know that this message will come as a surprise to you but let me start by introducing myself; I am Mr. Davi Ulah., Manager of African Development Bank Burkina Faso. I am writing you this letter to fulfill the promise I have with Almighty, now listen to me let me explain to you, in my department in the bank I discovered the sum of ( $15.Million United State Dollars) and I was searching for a foreigner partner who will assist me to claims the fund, first I send you an E-mail concerning this transaction but I waited to hear from you about the transaction business in which I proposed to you but did not hear anything from you again maybe you are too busy or you did not received my messaged.

So I have to search for another person who will assist me luckily for me I founded a partner from South Korea and both of us did the business now when this transaction was going on I have agreement with Almighty, I promised Almighty if the transaction move successfully that I will give out 10 percent of the total fund out to the motherless babies and the widowers and luckily for us the business move successfully without any problem so as a good Christian I did not forget my promise to Almighty, I decided to give out the 10 percent to the needy ones , so I decided to handle over the money under your care for you to use and help the motherless babies and the widowers over there in your country, Now I am in South Korea with my new partner who helped me finalized everything about the transaction. So therefore I kept the total sum of $ 1.5, Million (One Million five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars),

As the 10 percent of the total fund for the motherless babies and the widowers and I deposited the money with the Coris Bank International under my secretary care Mrs. Roselyn Eric Desmond email (roselyned75@xxx.yyy) therefore contact Mrs. Roselyn Eric Desmond immediately via her email address so that she will direct you how to receive the funds. you can receive it into your bank account in your country, so feel free to contact my secretary Mrs. Roselyn Eric Desmond, for I have gave them instruction to transfer the funds to you as soon as you contact her; please give some part of this funds to the motherless babies and widowers in your country that is my promise to Almighty.

N: B Note that I will not be checking my email because I am too busy here now in South Korea, I have instructed my secretary to direct you how to receive the funds and I want you to keep this as secret do not let my secretary to know about this transaction I just explain to you now I only kept the fund under her care but she’s not aware of the transaction I told her that the money is for business , so contact her and introduce yourself to her because I have also told her about you so tell her to direct you on how you will receive the funds please make sure that the motherless babies and the widowers over there in your country will receive this money successfully as I promise to Almighty.

Thanks

Best Regards,
Mr. Davi Ulah.

Elderly Gent scammed by phone.

AN elderly man caring for his ill wife has lost $110,000 to scammers claiming to be from the Australian Taxation Office.
The 81-year-old was threatened over three weeks by the scammers, who stated he would be jailed if he did not pay immediately and that his three children could lose their jobs.
Consumer Protection said it was the largest loss to the long-running scam ever reported in Western Australia.

Always do a reverse image search if you use dating websites. Got a message from a lady who had a upgraded profile. Being curious I found her linkedin profile and then her facebook profile which both indicated she lives in Scotland. Being even more curious I googled her name and Scotland and the top result was a scammers website, which someone was using her picture and details to perform a money transfer scam.

I today know if the person who contacted me is real but I have asked "her" a few questions. 99.99% sure it's a scam. Will try to catch the scammers out and get their account shut down.
