Do you have a Windows or Apple machine?
If Apple then you should be correct.
If Windows then you are likely wrong. Normally hidden away in not obvious location. IE has it built in directly.

This is how careful you have to be unfortunately.
If you have a Windows machine, do a search on "Flash, IE" and it should come up with the above.
For any link always look at whether it is to a http page etc.
Latest scamware can be activated from inside a PDF file.
Nothing is safe - if you're not expecting an email with an attachment then
Don't Open it, call the person to double check first.
