Luckily the AUD50 I got in BKK the other day was not counterfeit. Be careful next time and have your wits about you.

The ASIC one got through the GMail filters too.
I was dubious so left it a couple of days then looked at the link (which went to an external sendgrid domain on my mobile).
By which time the link had been deleted

I got a docx attachment from Blossom Rodgers which said it was an invoice and there was an access code in the email as well. I guess it is a scam. It was sent to one of my secondary email addresses which isn't used much.

What types of scams have docx attachments. Usually the suspect ones are zips.

Mum got a call from "Centrelink" telling her to call a 001... number, not a 002 Number. Mum asked the caller what her name was? Caller was so on script from what I can tell, they kept hammering my Mum to call that 001... number. Mum hanged up.

Don't know what scam they were up to, but my guess maybe some premium number.

Well cove it looks like you are going to win the battle over Svetlana.Alena sounds nice-
Hello dear stranger!
I'd like to find a man for friendship and may be more serious relationships later.
You are the one Id like to know. Just want to say that I am from Moldova. This is between Romania and Ukraine. I live in the city of Tiraspol.
I'm 33 years old and in next month will be 34. I'm looking for a man in your country because my cousin lives there with her husband and I plan go there in the next months.
I chose this country because it is very good and pure soul of the people. It would be fine to meet you in person.
I'm sincerely interested in knowing more about you. Dating is not just fun for me, I never play games.
I expect that you are also serious. I'm a lonely woman that wants to find someone that will take care and understand me.
Let me tell you more about myself. I assume that I am a strong woman with goals, ideals and ambitions.
I hope that this letter will help us to write the first lines of each other.
I'll wait for your answer. Alena

I am waiting for that 55 million dollar amount from Nigeria so I can get serious with Svetlana.
Alena sounds almost too good to be true drron.

This color bond fitted over existing sash windows areas.... To keep weather out.... Scam or not.... Water always finds away in?

i don't know if this has already been covered here, However an old school chum of mine was hit with a (fake) QF satisfaction survey (Phishing scam) in the last few days, and has had to cancel CC's re do his QFF account etc.
I have attached a "partial snip" of the offending email. My virus checker picked up on it straight away.

I always open the originating email address to see the source name. If it looks dodgy then I simply delete and don't take any chances

That Qantas one was a goodie.
Here I am still waiting for that 55 million USD to arrive. I think Nigeria's banks are a bit too slow in releasing the promised money.

So just got a call Aussie Lass, "won't keep u long, u maybe entitled to government rebate are u under 58, paying off home"
No.
"OK Thankyoul for your time have a good day"
Scam or what government rebate?

I am plagued by these calls-always assumed it was a pitch for a seminar on negative gearing or SMSF but am probably wrong as I dont listen for long

Who'd have thought I'd get another USPS email (does look a lot like UPS so I can understand people clicking on it), they failed on both attempts however:

Numerous emails this morning telling some unnamed person at my email address that my Apple p/w had been successfully changed.

Has anyone heard of a Centrelink phone scan where someone sends an automated voice call to your number claiming your Centrelink pension or other payments have increased but you need to contact them in order to clarify the details and that they have been sending out mail to your address which has been returned.

Yes, I have had clients caught in a similar scam. Always ring Centrelink directly, or use a professional adviser who has authorised access to Centrelink information online (and can agree with or refute any changes). That's how one client of mine (not worldly) luckily did not contact them as I told him it was a scam.

I don't remember asking my IT guy to order a tower (why would I need a Dell when I have 2 Intel servers that are the size of a small book each?). Interestingly, they got the price correct when I searched on Amazon for the product - and there are only 8 left in stock!

Why is somebody in Brazil the recipient of my click through? All too hard, I won't click ;)

Thanks for that. It sounded suspicious but I can see how some people would be caught easily.
