Scams like these

One bad thing, is that someone somewhere might have onsold details of your booking, could be the hotel management, ...
Or keylogger.
Just presupposing.
Maybe the aim of the message is for you to respond to that Whatsapp #.
Yes
I did not respond of course
I am thinking its a local issue - Portugal Brazil hotel workers 😞

about a series of spam WhatsApp messages overnight. Requested verification via links of credit card details for a hotel booking I made for next year in Portugal.
Possibly the hotel booking system has been compromised by a hacker.
That said I have seen some Asian hotels doing similar, but a legitimate request.

Very concerned about a series of spam WhatsApp messages overnight. Requested verification via links of credit card details for a hotel booking I made for next year in Portugal.
What is most distressing is the hotel, dates of stay, my name and contact number are all accurate.
I logged into my account - booking is there.
I have reported to both SLH with whom I booked directly and the hotel itself to investigate.
The number originates from Brazil (?hotel employee)
No credit card breaches as I figure they would have already used it if they had the details
I will await the responses
Creepy
UPDATE:
So I heard back from SLH who emailed that the booking and data is safe.

They quoted a message from the hotel that this is along the lines of this is a fraudulent message 😒. Do not respond. Its not from the hotel. Your details are safe.

(Duuh)

So…. I replied asking the issue to be escalated

Along the lines of
My data in fact is not safe… this is not phishing which is not targetted but a data breach of my personal information….and as such I expect a response that is targeted to my situation.

They replied - yes - hotel is doing everything it can to resolve this…

We shall see

I am looking elsewhere
