Seat selection at T-80

It might be that the B/E seats were blocked to leave a free seat for a CL, P1 or other status pax.

So it may seem, but 4ACDF and 5ACDF were all blocked at me checking at ~5 mins after T80. Must be at least 8 CLs/P1s in rows 4 and 5 who have preselected seats I guess...
Hey I can't complain, row 7 is better than row 22...

I'm a SG on a paid J ticket on QF736 ADL-SYD, a 767 next week, and I notice that I can only choose seats in rows 4-5 at the moment, would this be normal or should I have a bit better selection to choose from? I've also noticed that I only ever get to choose row 3 in J on a 737. Some other mates travveling *3 with only one of them a SG on the same booking have both rows 2 & 3 to choose from on similar 737 flights. Would something be wrong with my profile?

I know more will open up at T-80 and I will select better then, but I was just curious....

How full is the flight?

Flight stats says for QF736 J/9 C/9 D/9 I/0 and for the 737 flight QF785 J/6 C/4 D/2. Other then that site I wouldn't know how to work out the load.

Wouldn't you expect many members to be seeing similar changes then though? It doesn't sound like many are - I'm certainly not. I haven't flown a whole lot domestically recently, but on all those occasions I've had full cabin availability at T-80, including yesterday's MEL-SYD and this morning's SYD-MEL.
I have noticed the past 3-4 weeks that I have pick of the board again. I have not done any extra flying and I do not believe my PCV has gone up.

Was there a selective glitch in the seat allocation software that I was experiencing?

What booking class have you been in the past 3-4 weeks, compared to months prior when you mentioned this issue?
Maybe your relative PCV (compared to the other pax on your flights) has gone up...

Well I certainly have had a glitch with QF.For last nights QF flight MEL-BNE I could not get a seat selection to stick until I did OLCI.I could get to seat selection but it would afterwards come up with-seat selection can not be confirmed.By the time I could get a seat the most forward aisle seat was 21C so i went for a middle seat and then remembered why i dont select them.Got 5B so probably upset some elite who thought they had a shadow.
The other glitch I have is that I did get to PS in november but my boarding passes still come out QC Bronze.

I have a funny feeling the booking class is lower than recently. A lot of my flight have been in E class recently.

I still do the same routes SYD-BNE-SYD at the same times so cannot see how my PCV relative to others has changed.

I think you'll find that this time of year, many companies travel budgets have nearly dried up and it is possible those who are travelling are on less flexible/lower booking classes than normal.

Perhaps you are right serfty.

It really does not make much sense to me.

Funnily enough, row 5 is available at ~T-82 on an upcoming flight...

I got front row aisle for all of my flights this weekend. Checking your booking at T-80 is so worth it.

I have a question. If I have multiple flights on one booking, does T-80 occur individually for each flight or does T-80 for the first flight open up everything for the remaining flights also?

Individual flights IIRC
Yep, but don;t let that stop you.

Select seats at T-80 for the first flight, then select for the remaining segments as their individual "T-80" time arrives.

Didn't make any difference at all. T-80 came and went for the long haul sector I was after, not a single seat has opened up.

I was hoping for 15A + 15B on a new config A380 LHR-SIN. Guess ill have to stick with 19A + 19B as we have already.
