Background to this thread:

In a similar vein to the "Flight Availability / Upgrade Probability Help Desk" there has an increase in the posting of questions about specific seat allocation/availability on a flight. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with such queries. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.

This new consolidated thread is where you can ask questions about seating allocation/availability. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve usability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread:

Please post questions about availability of specific seats in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, Origin, Destination, date and cabin as applicable.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

I have still not travelled on a QF A380.

What are people thoughts on 80AK, 71D or 50AC. What is bulkhead in economy like on the QF A380?

I guess 80AK would be the ideal seat as you do not have anyone in front and able to have a window view.
I have not managed 71D but have considered it to be different from 24F in that there is a seat about 5' in front.

I have never notices 80A/K to be draughtier than most window seats where air flows down the wall irrespective of any vents. They are also relatively private.

Anyone can tell me the seat availability on
QF107 - 06 Feb - SYD-LAX
BA212 - 10 Feb - BOS-LHR

Flying in Y+ and would not mind an upgrade......

Thanks,
Ludo

I don't know how to copy the seat map as I've seen in ef but
qf107 six blocked seat availability in business plus one other seat (no seats upstairs)
ba212 twentythree seats availability in business

If anyone can tell me how to copy and paste from ef, i would appreciate it. cheers

Seating config QF16 LAX-BNE 1st Sep10

Hi Guys

Can someone confirm the seating config on QF16 LAX-BNE 1st Sep10.
I booked today in economy and have been given seat 37A,B. Looks like a 2/4/2 cabin does this mean Premium seats/economy service.

Thanks

Re: Seating config QF16 LAX-BNE 1st Sep10

Short answer: Yes.

Longer: 2/3/2 would be J seats with Y+ service. I believe row 37 is only Y+ on any 744/380. There is a new configuration rolling out as I recall that the new fitout was being deployed on Syd-Sin-Fra and Syd-Nrt first, QF 15/16 (bne-lax) being amongst the last to routinely get the new configuration, it's been running as a 3 class service but with Y+ in J seats (rows 23/24 in 2/3/2).

Must have a substitute aircraft that has 4 class layout F, J, Y+ and Y.

Yes, but subject to change of course.

It's currently a 4 class aircraft as docjames suggested.

Business class is in the F cabin, upper deck J and the first J cabin.

Premium has the mini J cabin (rows 29/30) and PE rows 34/35.

Economy has PE rows 36-39 and the standard Economy cabin.

I'm having trouble pulling up a seat map on Expert Flyer for QF73 (SYD-SFO) on March 12, 13, 15 & 17... I don't often use this program so I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Can anyone help? I am interested in the economy configuration on those dates ;)

QF73 only operates Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat (but may change from week to week). It doesn't appear to be operating on the dates you've mentioned :)

Well, that makes sense - thank you! The 12th is a Sat though so that should show if the flight is operating that day? In which case its probably not right?

Another question if I may... if a seat is blocked and blue does this mean that it cannot be requested?

From the 9th of March it is only operating Monday Wednesday and Friday... and then from the 14th again Mon Wed Fri Sat...

I'm looking at seat 38B on the March 7 and 38J on March 18. Or really any of the seats in 2-4-2 would be nice! Most appear blocked at this time..

At the moment these are blocked if you are not WP... This can change but no guarantees...

^^ Thanks! I had perfect seats but I had to change my dates. It seems as though they only make some available for selection for Golds in advance :( Oh well, I will keep checking.

You could always try and give QF a buzz and see if they can put a seat request in for you... no harm in trying.

Hello,
Just after some seat info on QF73 on March 2nd. We have two seats booked on QF73 SYD-SFO, (discount Y), and I am tring to see how full the flight is. Does anybody have any other sites I could look at? We are wanted a ABC or HJK without anybody in B or J. Was given a Y+ seats when we booked but due to a charge of aircraft now in a normal Y cabin now.
Thanking in advance for your help.

For a flight just two weeks away that's pretty wide open. No real chance of any OP-ups.

As far the configuration, it's a 4 class Kangaroo route configuration 744; there's some set of 3 seats forward in economy completely unallocated. Very few though down the back. I'd check in as early as I could to try to secure some.

Question for the experts:
QF16 LAX-BNE on 27/2/11.
Returning from my first ever O/S trip (and it's for all of five days, what a waste!)

Looks like rows 36-39 are PE seats sold as economy. At the moment they're all blocked to a lowly SG like me. Are they likely to become available closer to the flight (i.e. similar to T-80 for domestic)?

Also, given how full the flight is looking based on the seatmap... what are my chances of being op-up'd on my non-upgradable sale fare? hey, one can dream...

Thanks!
