Re: USDM Share Miles 100% Bonus 1 - 15 Oct 2013

Anyone know how the 12 day restriction is actually implemented.

1. Is the rule share to or share from?
2. Does the website actually stop you if you try or does share just not work somehow
3. I setup an account on the 30th Sept, does this mean I can do share on the 12th or do I need to wait until the 13th

my Amex went thru instantly last time but I got hit with foreign xchange fee's :(

Yeah, I have difficulty understanding this, not that I'm doubting as there are plenty of other posters with the same new but my two shares to date (2 days ago) were instantaneous! Maybe theres a backlog now because so many people are doing it!

I used a bank issued Amex and my shares this morning went through instantly. Maybe its Amex cards that go through instantly.

does anyone know how often they do this share promo? I debating whether to share some miles with my brother with the intention of sending them back at a later date (i have already gained the 50k max from this current offer)

There have been many share promos over the years...but the 100% share promo is quite rare.

I used AMEX and I shared yesterday morning, still haven't shown the the receiving account. But the account sending still shows 1000 points...

Hi all, I joined to take part in this promotion on the 2nd and am starting out on 0 miles, is anyone in a position to do a swap/share/trade on the 14 September to allow me to make use of this promotion?

Thanks in advance

Aside from the potential problem with some CC's (in particular multi use of the same CC that seems to cause problems) I reckon points.com are possibly streatched by the number of people doing this and they have a backlog of transfers, may calm down after the initial rush!

Is it correct that the maximum you can receive under this promo is 50K pts ?

i.e. you cannot recycle the "cycle" or can you ?

I am not clear from the website ".... For a limited time, when you share miles, the recipient will get a 100% bonus – up to 50,000 miles..."

Up to 50K, yes, but for how many times ?

Only once ?

Not that I am thinking of more

Amex & 28 Degrees cards (including same card, multiple USDM account use), which had previously been used to purchase miles (and therefore known to Points.com/US Airways) - all accounts/transactions posted instantaneously.

Once only I'm afraid. From the Ts& Cs:

Offer valid for Share miles transactions made between September 30, 2013 00:00:01 PT and October 15, 2013 23:59:59 PT. Members may receive a maximum of 50,000 bonus miles during the offer period. This bonus is only applicable for Share Miles and the offer does not apply to Buy or Gift Miles transactions. Bonus amounts will be awarded upon completion of the transaction.

You can only receive up to 50k bonus miles during this promo. It doesn't matter if an account receives this many bonus miles in one hit or in many share transactions, but in the end the maximum in bonus miles they can receive due to this promo is 50k.
