Shoes!?! ... and other accessories

Que? Certainly don't need more shoes (that I would be likely to wear once) but feel free P if you want to blow your luggage allowance. How many shoes did we take last time and never wore? :p

Oh. A couple of hundred I think. Jewellery is very acceptable though.

Quick off the mark tonight P :)

Sort of happy tonight - rolled a couple hundred K into my super so waiting for them to restart my income stream....until then living off the dregs :) How many shoes can I buy now?

That's a lot of shoes. I start 2017 drawdown Thursday. My first full year that is tax free.

I have problems with my big toe - osteoarthritis means it has no flexion. So walking in high heels with enclosed toe is impossible. I seem to manage high heels and open toe. Saw a beautiful pair of that beige colour that 'disappears' and goes with everything, the other day to wear to the wedding in a couple of weeks. But it's an outside wedding on the banks of the River Murray (gorgeous house on Hindmarsh Island) but might well sink knee deep into the soil due to the skinny high heel. Or go over backwards. Not stiletto but am sure there is a name for the heel.

So far this trip I have bought 3 pairs of shoes. :D:D:D One pair of Ara in Peter Shephard in Sydney, and two pairs of ColeHaan while in Pasadena Ca.

Me to mrsdoc: we are only here (beach resort) for 3 days, why is your bag so heavy?

I think the pic depicts the answer.

Oh my gosh my husband would have a fit if I took that many shoes.
We each take our own luggage so it would mean I would have less space for other things (like clothes) :)
I generally do 3 pairs of shoes for a trip - 2 walking type (inc flat sandal if warm destination) and another pair for restaurants. As I don't frequent gyms I don't need sports shoes and I can't wear thongs so sandals for the pool visits.

He would certainly make me carry it myself and make a point of how much less his luggage weighed compared to mine. He does this anyway - one day I shall make him take all the medical stuff that he usually needs more than me. Plus the snacks. Alcohol. Etc etc.

Gym shoes take up a lot of room. None for me now. Yeah!

:o Awkward discovery. Two pairs of perfect shoes that, um, were just replaced with two other purchases. Luckily MrP is in Dubai.

Yes 3 is usually my limit too. 2 walking (sandals & lace up) and a nice pair of black shoes for going out. I always take my most comfortable ones.
Of course there is always room then to purchase a pair or two along the trip:)

I take quite a few shoes with me when I'm going on a trip with checked luggage. HLO kills me but even then I will wear one pair of heels for travel, pack another 3-4 pairs in my carry on.
And like Mrs docjames, I never leave home without my Havaianas. Mine are black slim crystal butterflies and I have multiple pairs.

Usually I only take three pairs... Urban sneakers (black) that I wear on the plane, a pair of sandals I can walk a long way in if need be, and a pair of Giselle Bundchen things that are like thongs and sandals. If there's a wedding, then maybe a nicer pair for that...

ETA: this applies whether HLO or not

I might add (in mrsdoc's defence) that this is unusual - 5 pairs would have been more "normal" irrespective of length of trip!

I have just remembered a shoe shop I discovered in Windsor, Melbourne where the ladies shoes start at size 10. It was a wonderful day to be able to say that these shoes are too big!!!

What? I don't think even mrs.dr.ron can beat that!

So a photo of the shoes for this trip. I have bought 3 pairs in California, so I thought I was doing pretty well starting out with only 5 pairs !! And we have a month in Thailand to go yet
