Sigh only 3 cards registered. Wish I had more.

Oh well, at least my optometrist takes AMEX. Have people split spends over their cards?

if you read the messages in this thread you will find that this has always occurred, subject to the merchants discretion.

Same. It's hard enough in CBR to take full advantage of this but seems more than a few from last Nov have dropped off.

Any Canberrans care to share their battle plan?

I'll be using my 3 spends at my work, a mates work (pharmac_ as well), and the liquor place @ Curtin shops. Its branded Urban Cellars, but comes up as Liquor Legends on the AMEX map. I went in today, and he has the advertisement for the small shop stuff around the counter.
Checked with him if he was liquor legends and he said yep. Set to go!

edit: Capital Chemist Waramanga and Capital Chemist Hughes is where I plan to hit up. I will be at Waramanga, happy to do split sales for anyone who wants to maximise benefits across the cards :-)

I'm hoping to buy the 2 lots of the 'best bacon' in Aus at Pialligo Estate Farmhouse. Then, hop over to Three Mills bakery and coffee shop (Lancaster Place Majura), and buy some expensive delicious bread.

You could have a colonoscopy at Gastrotract too. ;)

I did try a bit of planning on shop small website but not very helpful - map keeps thinking I am in Jersey City, New York and Brooklyn rather than North Sydney!!!

Are you in North Sydney? North Sydney pub crawl? ;) or AFF pub crawl!

Had a eager gentlemen visit me today...said I was his 2nd stop ...pointed out to him it didn't start until tomorrow! Oops..
Was that anyone here?

How would Amex know the purchase was made online?

How would Amex know the purchase was made online?

i imagine they will filter them out based on merchants that are tagged as being online and by transaction where the card number is keyed rather than swiped

I did not know that the credit card provider received so much information on a transaction.

Council of North Sydney area. A pub crawl of North Sydney's finest is not really on my agenda. I have breakfast and dinner planned out at various places in Crows Nest and Chatswood combined with the odd OPAL top-up although these are harder to do now.

Merchant ID may be different for online transactions.

This would be a lot easier to pick up as compared to the gift card exceptions

'Customer not present' has to be enabled on the card machines and, I believe, attracts different fees so should be easily identifiable.

A quick heads up - Amex are still updating their list of SS merchants. I just checked on planned merchant visits for tomorrow and one is no longer on the list. It was there on Tuesday. Be Warned!

I believe merchants can also remove themselves.
