Only one VFF connection per Household Account. If you think you will spend over $1000 per month, it may be worth setting up separate accounts (may want to do this anyway)

Thanks for the question.

In conjunction with our airline partners, Velocity offers millions ofseats across all routes each year. We have also won Best RedemptionAbility for the fourth year in a row at the Freddie Awards.

In addition, Velocity Points canalso be redeemed for a very wide range of other exciting products includingholidays, hotels, retail goods and fuel.

With respect, answers like this won't cut it here.
Most AFF members are more clued in with the intricacies of loyalty programs than many who work at velocity.

We are looking for deeper insight and stuff we couldn't find ourselves.

I'd say the availability of seats (partner and VA metal) has diminished significantly since you won the award, and indeed in the last 12 months. Additionally, I don't hold the Freddie Award (as an aside - terrible name, sounds like it should be associated with the Shonky Awards) in high regard, given how hard VA actively encourage their members to vote for them.

I recently reached out via email to Velocity to raise the lack of award availability. I was simply told to contact the guest contact center by phone to check availability, and there was nothing further that they would do to respond to the issue.

I have a feeling that next years Freddie Awards will be a different story (regardless of how hard VA tries to plug their program).

If I earned my 120SC cap and my wife started to collect SC via Flybuys, would they pool into my account via our family pooling agreement? or do these SC not pool?

Hi VFF

Just a question regarding the SC earn. I have linked my husband's Velocity account to our Flybuys (both our cards are on the one "household" FB account). The Ts & Cs seems to indicate that we need to swipe my husband's card for the SC earn:

 • Once the accounts have been successfully linked, this linked Velocity Frequent Flyer member will earn Status Credits when they scan their flybuys card on eligible purchases at Coles, Coles Online, Liquorland and First Choice Liquor.
Note the reference to "their" card - but does it matter which FB card we use? i.e. if I swipe my FB card when shopping, will that spend count towards the $100 total for the SC earn, or only when we swipe his card (both cards have different numbers)?

Thanks!

A good question, thank you.

All members in a household can contribute to the total monthly spend which earns Status Credits, therefore you can also swipe your card when you shop. The Status Credits will be credited to the linked Velocity member's account.

The total monthly spend for the purposes of Status Credit earning is reset at the begiining of every month.

I hope this is helpful.

Again, with respect, I think it was a pretty clear 'no'.

Exactly what I needed to know - thank you! Much appreciated :)

I would like to know how long before Flybuys points expire ??

Re: Flybuys teams up with Velocity Rewards

Very interesting. Guess this means the Coles Rewards Mastercard is now a 0.87 Velocity point/$ mastercard for an annual fee of $89. Makes it fairly competitive!

Flybuys points expire if you do not earn or redeem any points in a period of 12 consecutive months. They expire automatically, and Flybuys do not send you any warning of expiry.
Pretty easy to keep the account current. Just buy something at Coles.

Actually flybuys point never ever expire. The rules were changed a few years ago.

This seems to contradict your assertions:

'Points do not expire unless you:have not registered with flybuys, inwhich case they will automatically expire in three months; or
do not earn or redeem any points onyour account for a period of 12 consecutive months, then your points, and anyflybuys Dollars, will automatically expire and we may also terminate yourmembership and close your account. We will not contact you to advise you ofthis.'

Re: Flybuys teams up with Velocity Rewards

Fantastic work Flybuys, I'm really pleased to see you've signed on another Airline points transfer partner. Very exciting!!

As I mentioned in another thread, I think FlyBuys has the opportunity to make a rewards program that could rival the best in the country (which would be AMEX in my opinion) - perhaps even be the best in Australia. Growing the range of airline points transfer partners is key to making FlyBuys a really
good (or the best) flexible points program going around. So great work on signing on Velocity!

If you are keen to expand further, Velocity would have been my number one pick (big tick against that one now), after that Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer and Cathy Pacific Asia Miles would be right up there. If you wanted to stand-out from the pack though and rival AMEX, you could consider adding some less common, but very much sought after partners: American Airlines AAdvantage, British Airways Avios, Alaska Air Mileage Plan and of course Starwood Preferred Guest.

Bring it on FlyBuys, don't just stop with Etihad and Velocity, keep going!!!!

Re: Flybuys teams up with Velocity Rewards

Did a test today, transferred 8000FB around 5pm sydney, points posted including bonus points 15% at velocity around 8pm - amazingly fast!

Re: Flybuys teams up with Velocity Rewards

This is pretty big.

I wonder if these SC can be shared with family members?

QFF will also have to rethink their deal with WW.

I had problems linking but got an error message to ring Virgin. Checked my Velocity account and turns out my accounts had already been linked.

Re: Flybuys teams up with Velocity Rewards

The fact that you can SC's as well is a real game changer as far as FF programs go. Can these SC's be pooled as well?

Will we see an increase in SC's required for different levels in the future remains to be seen.

As a OW flyer and with ordinary earnings of FB or WW points being equal then I still much prefer 870 QFF points for 1000 WW points to 870 V points for 2000 FB points.
At the present I am also getting better offers from WW compared to Coles for bonus points.

Excellent news. I am starting to actually fly VA regularly and these extra SCs would help me to get to BIS Gold one day ......
