Had an excellent dinner at Joel Rubuchon - lovely staff who went out of the way to make the whole night enjoyable. We didn't go for the full degustation - way too much food. The cut down one was still huge. First the wine - had half a bottle of white and red and let the sommelier choose for us. Enjoyed both very much.

Next the bread -we let one of the waiters talk us into a small basket with a selection. Huge mistake as we couldn't stop eating them - each one was so different.

Mr FM and I both had the crab and avocado cannelloni. The cannelloni made from overlapping avocado with the crab inside. Then I had the boullibaise - quite spicy and lovely and Mr FM a soft egg with caviar.

We shared a Chateaubriand for our main. Very rich and melt in the mouth. The pommes frittes were pure air inside

First dessert (starting to feel like a hobbit). I had an apple - shaped with a thin sugar layer - inside apple, ice cream and little biscuits. Mr FM had some passion fruit and coconut concoction

Finally tea and coffee with a petit four - I could only manage a truffle, but Mr FM was talked into a truffle and a macaron :)

That was the smaller meal option FM? I don't know if I would have made it past the entree.
The dishes looked superb though. Was this his restaurant over on Sentosa?

I did the largest tasting option in Las Vegas. Had to call it quits by the first desert and be rolled out of there :o.

yes it was much smaller than the full degustation. They had 4 different menus to choose from. A full and 3 cut down ones of various sizes. This was the second smallest :)

It is in Hotel Michael on Sentosa. The one we went to was the 3 Michelin star one, but they have another one next door Rubuchon L' Atellier which is 1 star.

Just spent the day at the Gardens by the Bay :)

Love_the_life - Sentosa?
A lot of the things on Sentosa are more children oriented, but if you do go there you might find Fort Silosa interesting. It has the military history of the guns that were guarding Singapore and the surrender to the Japanese. At the time we went there were a lot of letters from POWs in Changi, but that might have changed - it was about 15 years ago.

I did check out Disneyland in HK on my own ;)

I think love_the_life and I will be pursuing more cultural activities. She is trying to educate me. Just the one full day really (maybe even with a nana nap - my world has changed a bit) as we are moving to loftier heights on the second full day for our last night - Marina Bay Sands.

And its pool :)

What do you mean cultural activities? Is that food?

Yep. Shopping :p. Alcohol. Maybe the gardens?
defiinitely do the Gardens! The free outside stuff is beautifully laid out - found the Indian garden very interesting. The flower dome and the rainforest one are incredible. The flower dome has a South African display at the moment. The wooden carvings were great - photos to come.... we plan to go back on the 29th after dark for the light and music show. Marina Bay Sands looks totally futuristic and you are right on top of the gardens there.

I've been to the gardens a few times and there always seems to be something new to see. I also really enjoy the botanic gardens in Singapore.

some of night photos on Sentosa
