I have booked 6 hours at the KLIA2 Aerotel that evening (MYR135 nonrefund, Flex from MYR180) before heading to KLIA the next morning for my 10am'ish MH flight back to MEL.

In relation to lounge access for me, would it be any drama that I am a lowly NB, (but I do have QC) and it appears that I'd be flying economy if I did attend?

No trouble at all. There have always been enough WP/OWEs to guest others in. Note that if you are travelling in Y (economy) you won't be able to get into the QR lounge regardless of status.

To add to @JessicaTam comments in general to get access to multiple lounges just make sure you book on a OW carrier and metal. If you book QF on JQ metal you will most probably be restricted to QF lounges. If on QF flight number and metal out of SIN the EK lounge may also open up.

Note that if you are travelling in Y (economy) you won't be able to get into the QR lounge regardless of status.

Out of curiosity are there any finer QR/OW rules when it comes to guests, in general I am aware of the QR rules. For the crawl, if I was to travel say on QF2 (F) as a OWE would I be able to guest a NB in Y into the QR lounge provided they were also on QF2.

Nup!

Aside from Doha, QR provide no status based lounge facities for oneworld elites or their guests.

To contrast, as a Qantas WP travelling Qantas (or Emirates) you could guest an economy passenger of the same flight as you into the EK lounge.

Fortunately (or otherwise) my flight is two hours earlier (there‘s no U availability left on the 21:15 departure). Taking bets on which one will go tech

Currently just 2 seats allocated of the 16 & showing:

On Tuesday I was able to book U for this later flight (MH610) departing tonight - there had been none a month ago.

I happen to be arriving in SIN at 18:55, and while I won't be able to enter any lounges, I'd love to briefly drop past and put some faces to names if anyone's willing to meet me at the door
