Singapore Airlines Delays/Cancellations

On Easter Saturday (26 March 2016) SQ251, the Good Friday 2305 hours SIN to SYD should arrive at about 1026, half an hour late under the wing of A333 9V-STE.

At the moment, SQ215 SIN-PER is stuck in SIN with a cargo door problem. We are all on board with no departure imminent. Delay will be at least an hour or so at this stage.

Looks like another early morning arrival into PER after last weekend where my VA MEL-PER service was delayed by five hours.

It is a very funny start to this thread. I was a bit concerned about you having to drink Krug on an angle CE. My turn this afternoon and no chicken satay....is this going to trouble Mrscove? She is so unselfish in the Krug champagne area. Never understood why she stopped alcohol about a week after we started going out but I have appreciated her driving us home.
Anyway SQ317 may be 90 minutes late leaving LHR for SIN.

On Easter Tuesday 29 March, SQ245 from SIN to BNE should arrive at about 2010 hours, 40 minutes late. Aircraft is A333 9V-STR. Despite a pushback time of 0940, it did not become airborne until the time we all respectfully remember - 1111 - so it appears to have made up quite some time enroute. It is presently cruising at the impressive (ground) speed of 1037 kilometres an hour.

SQ317 had a tech issue in London so the plane was switched. So we were on board drinking Krug when the news filtered thru to us. We have been handled very well and our tickets to Perth were switched to the last flight to arrive today.

Yes CE but the two planes were configured differently so there may have been an issue with Premium Economy but it was a great result for us.

The 1825 MEL - SIN, SQ208 is about half an hour late and should be at the gate at SIN at about 0045 on Thursday 7 April 2016. Aircraft is A333 9V-STU.

Singapore Airlines plane in near-collision at South Korea's Incheon airport: Reports, Transport News & Top Stories - The Straits Times

On 5/5/16 SQ16 9V-SWP (B777) was on the "roll" and before V1 was directed to abort takeoff roll by ATC due to KE 929 A330 encroaching onto runway.

Needed to replace tyres as a result of the heavy emergency braking.

Departed for SFO SQ9016 the next day 19 hours late.

The return SFO-ICN-SIN on 7/5/16 was flight number SQ9015 in order to distinguish it from a juxtaposed SQ16/15

The Monday 16 May 2016 arrival of the redeye from SIN into SYD, SQ221, occurred 82 minutes late at 0717 as on Sunday 15 it had departed 79 minutes late at 2134 hours.

With the strong west wind in SYD and some apparent turbulence below about 1700 metres, SQ232, the 1100 SYD to SIN on Friday 27 May 2016 is still taxiing at 1338 hours. Aircraft is A380 9V-SKI. FR24 suggests that arrival will be on time but that must be mythical.

The Friday 3 June 2016 SIN - PER flight scheduled at 1845 hours, SQ215, took off at 1949 with A333 9V-STR operating it. PER arrival on Saturday 4 June is expected at around 0028 hours, 33 minutes late.

SQ231 into SYD on Sunday 5 June should be about half an hour late in arriving at roughly 1055. 9V-SKE is the A380.

Melburnian1, what is the on time performance for SQ232 historically, the 1100 arrival? I would assume pretty good as it is a quieter period at SYD.

Boris spatsky, you are correct (as always!) with FlightStats - Global Flight Tracker, Status Tracking and Airport Information giving it an overall rating of 91 per cent and suggesting (at least recently) that its on-time performance (which I suspect uses the '15 minute allowance' rule) is 91 per cent.

Overall, FlightStats gives it a rating of 4.5 out of 5 which is a very good one. As you would know, some flights of many airlines have overall ratings of less than one out of five.

The site does not explain well what number of minutes late it uses for flights shown as 'excessively' late or a couple of other categories.

While SQ231 has a lofty 4.5 stars for its punctuality, its bigger sister which arrives at the premium time of 0555 gets a 1.7 stars for its efforts.

Im not sure how these stats are arrived at. In my mind at least 221 is also a very punctual flight.

Quickstatus, remember that there are two components from which the star rating used by FlightStats is calculated. It is laid out in detail when one searches for a particular flight and obtains the star rating, which we can then click on to see the more detailed calculation. I won't explain it here as it is preferable for those who are curious to go to the website and put in a flight number and airline of their choosing.

The Sunday 3 July 2016 SQ232 (1100 SYD - SIN) departed at about 1218 so A380 9V-SKH will be at least 50 minutes late arriving in SIN this evening, if not more.

Challenging weather in SYD for much of Wednesday 13 July and possible single runway operations for at least some of the day have probably been the cause of SQ252, the 1300 hours SYD - SIN, taking off at 1558 with arrival suggested as 2203, 163 minutes late. The conveyance is A333 9V-SSA. Many other flights are at least an hour to two hours late.

The 1800 hours SQ242 is also late, taking off at 1917 and expected into SIN at 0113, 53 minutes late, ex SYD with B773 9V-SYJ.

The Saturday 16 July SQ252 (1300 hours from SYD up to SIN, A333 9V-STH) did not take off until mid afternoon at 1534. Arrival should be at 2131, 131 minutes behind the 1920 hours timetabled at gate time.
