If you have status and a Oneworld boarding pass then you can try the British Airways lounge. If you really need some documents printed you can ask the Qantas staff for assistance and they may take you into the lounge next door.

By that stage I won't yet have status. Would a QF J boarding pass get me into the BA or EK lounge ?

Oneworld access on a qf j ticket is definitely there, also iv had confirmation at least for Australia that a af j ticket will get me EK lounge access !

i won't win any photo composition competitions, but here's some of the desserts recently on offer.

also the 2 cook to order selections were a minute steak with cafe de paris butter which was delicious. and a chicken laksa which i was less impressed with.

Awesome, thanks guys.
Between the BA and EK lounge, there'd be a printer you'd think lol.

Great to see you enjoying the variety. While the live dining options have changed since I was there, the brulee was a favourite. Is that a Rooster in the background? :)

not sure what's in those coughtails, and didn't see them getting promoted at the bar. drink in picture is a campari, orange juice and soda which apparently went down well (not mine!)

very attentive staff doing drinks service, it would be great if they could show the same enthusiasm for cleaning/ clearing away tables, some of which sat for > 30 mins while we were there.

For an alternate perspective, here's something from FT:

Where are you going?

Well, I’m not quite sure. As I sit at the new Qantas lounge in Changi, quaffing a glass of I-had-to-take-a-photo-to-remember-the-name (is it even French, this Salinger?), someone has responded to a facebook check-in asking where I’m going. I suppose if you keep reading you’ll eventually find out.

One thing is for sure, I’m not flying Qantas. A friend told me QF is so bad he’ll never step on an international QF flight ever again. I've reached a similar conclusion (though I'm not quite sure why as I've never flown the red roo), but I suppose EK in Y with a 0100 departure isn’t going to be much better. Especially in 49F.
