I know we pretty much came to the conclusion that it's a poor-value deal and is unlikely to bring many non-status, Y passengers through the doors, but you have to read some of the comments on the Fairfax story. Good god people, get a grip.

I understand from a colleague whose husband works for Singapore Airlines is that they are appalled how the influx of high-status Velocity members from the lower reaches of society has dragged down the ambience of the Kris Lounges at Australian ports
