I did a flight on January 25 - SIN to MEL in J. I originally had the flight booked for 18th and put it back to 25th. I confirmed with the reservations guy that the Velocity membership was linked to the booking, he assured me it was. I confirmed again at Check-in and again at the lounge. Why so cautious - simply because I have read of the stories of SQ sectors not crediting - so was being doubly sure. It also presented on the boarding pass. Of course it did not post, I put in a missing points claim, waited the 14 days, no credit, put in another claim, shot off an email to Velocity, they tell me it will be done and credited within 14 days, no sign. Now after a few emails I get back that the points were credited to another program (which is untrue) so basically tough luck. That is 120 status credits and 4500 odd points. Not prepared to give up on that at this stage. Though to be honest I have had enough of Virgin.
10 sectors on Air New Zealand not credited, they want further details, perhaps they should check on their system and find the details they seek - perhaps under booking associated with my account that might be a good place to look.
They upgraded my son to Platinum at 995 status credits that was back in October, I protested that because his status balance does not drop off until April and any of the flights we do up until then can be credited to him to take him over the 1000. They basically ripped us off 6 months of membership. Both myself and my partner are Platinum so there is no benefit in him being platinum. Despite many emails and many conversations and more importantly many assurances it would be resolved there has been no communication on the matter in months and there is no resolution.
For me I have had my fill of Virgin and it's new system. It is very lacking and their responses and actions around it are pathetic. 3 x Platinum and all personal and company business is going elsewhere. More than a little annoyed !!
On top I wanted to use the upgrade vouchers to upgrade flights MEL - OOL and MEL - PER - took them the best part of 5 hours to do it. I was patient and they were apologetic but nonetheless that was, as I understand it, a direct consequence of the "efficiences" introduced by their new system.
