Got this email this morning from membership@velocity:

Velocity Points Claim Request

"Your Points Claim request has been submitted, but requires further attention. If your claim is eligible, your Points will be awarded within 14 days.

If you have any further queries, please contact the Membership Contact Centre.

Thank you from the Crew at Velocity."

Well, I was going to book BNE/ADL/BNE next Thursday, but will give at least) one sector to QF now - depends on availability.

(Edit: QF had a JASA available on the return leg. VA lose revenue)

Just had SC and points credited from flights taken on 16/1 and 17/1.

Also the "Show Detail" link on the Upgrade section of my account is back for the first time since the changeover (you know the one that shows you when your points are expiring and how many points you need on various dates over the next 12 months to upgrade).

The data doesn't seem to be quite right though. Not sure how I'm going to get minus 660 SCs to upgrade...

I just called up to find out what is happening with uncredited flights and spoke to Johnny in Brisbane. The call centre staff have been advised that all points and status credits from the 14th January onwards will be credited by the first of Feb as the systems guys are doing bulk processing of points from next Monday. He advised if you have not received earned points and status credits by Feb 1 call up and they will manually be processed over the phone.

Feb 1st? That will be over three weeks of VA flights without Gold status for which I've already earned it. No lounge entry no nothing, just terrible coffee and internet and overpriced sandwiches. I've seen there are quite a few others that qualified during this transition too. I hope they're as tardy in expiring at the end of the year if people don't requal (i.e. use processing date rather than activity date), or at least give those that earned and were delayed an extra two weeks. I've rebooked my 12 flights for the next month on QF so I can get lounge, I would have preferred VA, but don't want to do them without lounge (to which I should have had access since Jan 13 - and J just not an option at my workplace).

Not sure about those who don't requal (there's always the one month grace period of course) but for those only just manageing to scrape in, VA have suggested they would look at them on an individual basis only (you need to call them) when the time comes and plead your case. This (I think), would only really effect those who's status upgrade occurred late (due to VA issues) but more status accrued which should have gone toward requal, but were instead "lost" due to the changing review date.

Ah, suck it up Mr Wilson........at least they've sent you an email, which is more than I have got! :cool: :lol:

On a serious note, my missing SCs realistically won't effect me much one way or the other. I'll qual as plat sometime in March regardless (unless of cousre they continue to fail in awarding genuine SCs) and I have no requal issues at the moment. This debacle is adversely affecting others however, which I personally think is poor. I hope recompense for those adversely affected is forthcoming promptly without debate.
 
Sabre/New website problems - all my status credits are gone!

I am sucking it up...but I am hoping that my BNE/ADL sector on Thursday will show my Plat status.

I'm beginning to feel a tad apprehensive as well.

Still no sign of crediting pts/SCs for a flight a few weeks ago (no communication at all from VA) and to compound the issue, all four flights from last week have failed to post (2 on Thurs, 2 on Sat).

I have until mid March or there abouts before I'll reach plat, but if SCs don't start adding, I'll be going nowhere also.

(Yes LW, I know...."suck it up swanning_it"! :oops:)

The saying goes "patience is a virtue".

Still no movement in my account and they have lost $500 in revenue from me (bought a Saver rather than a Flexi BNE/ADL and gave the return to QF rather than buying a Flexi).

Have further bookings to SYD, MEL and PER in the next 4-6 weeks. They risk losing them as perhaps I'll focus on trying to get Plat again on QF (some JASA's could get me there).

Wonder what "service recovery" special offers VA will have to produce in order to stem the flow of bookings to QF, who are surprisingly in the box seat in which VA used to have a mortgage.

I'd be pretty amazed if they don't retrospectively grant status upgrades if the flights were taken in the correct periods.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have somewhat lost control of that sort of information. My upgrade to Platinum dates / SCs required certainly make interesting reading!

Sounds like I am a lucky one - date and points to retain Plat all appear correct and points are posting day following flight, faster than they ever have..........

If they don't restospectively grant the flights, then they have lost me - I'll move most of my flying back to QF to chase Platinum there and just retain Gold with VA (as my flights 3 weeks ago will requalify me Gold for 2013). What is as frustrating is that if it is had processed correctly, then I have lost 3 weeks use of Platinum status - I could have used it tomorrow (when I booked, was originally in 7D, moved to 5D at T-24) and I would have bought Flexi fares to use my Bonus Upgrade Credit already in my account.

I'll certainly have a good chat with either Annette (the BNE Lounge Goddess) or Carrie-Ann (her Deputy) tomorrow morning, about our disappointment with the way the changeover have been handled.

I think I remember reading somewhere that VA is doing a mass database update on Feb 1st to cover many Velocity posting issues form the last few weeks.

Perhaps we should all just wait another 2-3 days to see if this happens and some of the problem go away.

I tried to make a rewards booking but points available are shown as at 14th Jan. My Velocity A/c shows the correct figure, another 15000 points, but this doesn't appear on the booking page.

Velocityrewards.com.au and virginaustralia.com have always seemed somewhat separate, but yes, it seems even worse now. The QFF experience is so much better.

I thought the idea with this changeover was to combine the websites into one.

If I have to log in once more after searching for status runs I'll throw my toys out of the cot!

Lucky I've already booked a couple.. ;)

I have an award flight in July. Since the changeover, I haven't been able to see it on the website - I keep getting "Cannot Retrieve Booking". So today I bit the bullet & called customer service. After feeding the agent all my details (names, flight numbers, dates etc) he came back with a changed PNR. I plugged this into the website & still got the same error. Called back and was told to wait for a week - it might be fixed then. BTW, the website also has an option to find you bookings with your Velocity number & password - that doesn't work either.


This part works fine for me. I just can't bring up the fare rules... :D

Most likely because the fare rules are from Navitaire, which Sabre has no idea about. I've got the same thing with a long haul booking from earlier this year.

I hope you are right bullerdude, as I'm not happy that 3 weeks after my flights to qualify for Plat still aren't showing. They'd better process them with the correct date, or I will throw a right tanty in front of VA HQ.

Of course, I would have shown Plat for this mornings flight and got Row 4, not that Row 5 (where I was able to secure at T-23.55) was really any different.
I wonder when my flight from this morning will show at Gold earning rates and whether I'll have to chase up that as well for manual crediting for the differential to Plat.

I can wait a couple of days if they are doing a database update...should I hold my breath :o

My pre-migration, lost in the wilderness sector just lobbed! Zone 2 comp J upgrade from flexi earned correctly @ 30SCs.

Also 3 of my 4 post migration sectors have correctly posted (including a sector I was not scanned on boarding) so I now have just 1 outstanding (which was from last Sat.)
