So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

Just talking to a neighbour who has a Raptor. He's told the dealer to pencil him down for a V6 Ranger. I wonder if it's the same V6 we've seen in VW and Audi for years?

Given that the new Ranger and Amarok will be sharing the same platform, I guess that is possible.

You'd expect so given the two brands are sharing the platform going forwards.

New toy on the way from Dutton Garage.... watching the CEVA tracking is rather time consuming and also frustrating!

I owned an earlier iteration of the VW V6 diesel in an Audi. It was a quite decent engine, even though mine wasn’t the twin scroll version. In a ute, I expect the traction control might get a workout.

Sounds interesting - hope to see pics soon.

Probably not the typical Dutton’s purchase! Previously owned by a Sri Lankan billionaire with a measly 57k on the clock.

On a side note, have learnt something new. Sold the 911 to Classic Throttle Shop, turns out they’re owned by Dutton’s.

Looks good and will last forever.
Probably time I moved my 986 on.

Anyone managed to grab one of the new Kia Sportage’s yet? Look amazing.
Same neighbour with the Raptor said that his daughter had just ordered one. He seemed quite impressed. Kia’s new electric car is very interesting (as is the related Hyundai).

What is it with selling Porsches? A mate just sold his Macan. Less than 24 hours on carsales.

Like many things at the moment - cheap finance and a complete lack of stock availability.

Contemplated selling it last year just prior to Covid. 18-20mths later and it sold for about 30% more. Just madness.

Contemplated a Kia Stinger a few years back, but the lack of headroom was a deal breaker! They have come a long darn way in recent years in their offerings that’s for sure.

Yes, a mate has ordered one too.

Some variants are sold until August….

Very impressive.

Are you taking about the EV6 electric? Also looks awesome.

You can tell Kia pinching al those Audi and BMW designers a few years ago has paid off!

According to the December 4X4 magazine:

Providing the brawn to match that muscular appearance, is the introduction of a V6 diesel engine to the Ranger.

This is the 3.0-litre V6 engine that was, until recently, available in the Ford F-150 full-size truck and this is its first application in a mid-size ute. In the Effy, it made close to 600Nm of torque and 185kW of power, but Ford Australia is yet to say what the outputs will be capable from the new Ranger. Needless to say, the potential is there to exceed those of the VW Amarok V6 – which is the only other six-cylinder ute in this category.

The ‘Lion’ TDV6 engine is not all-new, as it harks back to the 2.7-litre engine that we first saw in the Land Rover Discovery 3 wagon and also in the Ford Territory diesel.

In 3.0-litre capacity with single- and twin-turbo arrangements it appeared in Land Rover and Range Rover models, where it produced up to 225kW and 700Nm as the SDV6.

It seems that the interpretation is that its removal from the F150 signals that it will go into the new Ranger and help differentiate the two types in markets where they are both sold. I guess more F150s are sold with the petrol V6 in the US, anyway.

You would know more about this donk, from Landy & Rangy experience and whether it has anything in its history linked to Audi/VW.

Well, mine is a toy, so it doesn't get driven often.
Also, my medical condition is of increasing concern and I wouldn't like to leave my wife with the problem of selling it.
After being unused for a while it hibernates and there is a procedure for unlocking. Pressing the unlock button on the key does nothing, so it appears the battery is too flat to do anything except flash the alarm led on the dash.

Have had the flat battery issue a number of times. Couldn't get into it once because it was flat as a tack! 😂🤦‍♂️

Does anyone on this site own or ordered the 2021 Isuzu MUX 4x4 variant and if so what are your thoughts.
