Not me in the Czech Rep recently, but it looks like a bit of fun!

Not a car that I drive but certainly a number of cars that I would love to drive. It seemed to be a small classic car group having a public show. Spotted in Darmstadt near Frankfurt a couple of days ago. Apart from the expected Porsches & Mercedes there were an E type Jaguar, Austin Healy 3500, NSU Ro80, a couple of bubble cars plus more. This post has taken me nearly 24 hours to get loaded. The internet in this hotel (Hampton Dusseldorf) is very, very flaky.

I was advised this morning that my new-gen Ford Everest has arrived at the port and will be ready for delivery next Monday afternoon, 24 October. I originally placed an EOI on it last November when the new models' likely deliveries were mooted, and turned it into an order in June when pricing became available.

Interesting timing. I took delivery of my present Everest on 24 April 2020, so it will be exactly 2.5 years old and half way through its warranty when it goes next week. Just coming up 82K clicks on the clock.

Also, a set of AT/LT tyres that I ordered some time ago and were subject to delivery delays just hit my tyre dealer on Friday. Sweet timing for fitment on Tuesday next week!

And, it just happens that from tomorrow until Saturday I'm off to SYD to ride back to PER on the Indian Pacific for the rest of the week.

PERfect timing all-round. :)

Now, where is my big map? 😜

What tyres did you get?

What tyres did you get?

Cooper AT3. There is a backstory: see posts #2573 & #2806 on this thread.

I had been assuming/hoping that the tyre size would not change between the old and new models, as I was aiming to reclaim the unused Cooper AT3 265/60R18 residing as the spare in my current vehicle and swap it out to a second-hand tyre.

But Ford conspired against me by changing the tyre size on the new model to 255/65R18 on 7.5inch, rather than 8inch, rims.

Now, 255/65R18 is (currently) a most unusual tyre size and essentially impossible to get in AT/LT. My tyre dealer assures me that 265/65R18 is OK to fit to a 7.5inch rim, so that's what I'm getting.

I did consider Falken Wildpeak, but they are AT and apparently 'reinforced' or something, but not LT. So I stuck with Cooper - but having to buy 5 instead of the hoped-for 4.

From memory I had the Coopers on my Triton and was very happy with them. The Defender is a bit more limited with 255/70 18s being stock. I went for the Maxxis MT772 275/65s for something a little more aggressive. 🤣 I am still considering rims with a slightly higher offset as the front tyres are a little close to the suspension. 😬

A little old man like me does not need the sort of aggression offered by Maxxis...😜

And - I don't frequent muddy environments like you peeps in Vic...:p

In case you have not committed to tyres just yet...
We had a couple of sets of Yokohama Geolander G15 on our old Pajero, which performed well.
We go to the snow (Victoria) and some dirt but not "serious" 4WD tracks or mud.
Due to limited availability of the Geolanders when we needed them, we switched to Goodyear Wrangler Silentrac.
Have to say they were excellent in the snow, and noticeably quieter on highway.
