So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

30 d Space Gray 7 seats

You'll love it. My wife and I both have black ones. Never knew BMW had 7-seaters and were just looking at the new F15's, as a dealer was right next to the other dealers we were looking at, and mentioned it to a salesman. We ordered them the following week.

The HUD is amazing. Speed, Nav, warnings etc all coming up on the windscreen. The NAV is incredible. The start-stop takes a while to get used to, but is pretty cool. I didn't get the seat warmers but SWMBO did. It's like a hot water bottle on your back. ahhhh.

Well I can advise that Carsguide and Gumtree are totally useless for selling a car in my experience. Not a single enquiry in about four weeks using either. However on eBay I've had heaps of queries and it looks like I may finally have made the sale - less than I wanted but when do you ever get that?

Probably better off just putting the "4 sale" sign on it and parking it out the front.

2013 audi s4. Still puts a smile on my face every time I floor it. I've had no problems with it at all. Which is good as I put an ECU/supercharger upgrade on it once Id hit 5,000km.

So jealous!

I'm settling on a new Liberty to replace the lemon VW. It's very... Sensible

I really liked - no, make that loved - my 2010 Liberty GT (my son now has it) and was looking forward to buying another one with the new model Liberty release this year but, alas, the GT is no more. It was a nutso car.

I have decided that AWD is the only thing acceptable after having a Subie, but the lack of power in the standard (non turbo) Liberty was not going to be satisfying, so I went to an Audi (turbo) Quattro.

Subarus are damn good cars.

This chat is all very nice but more importantly... what does it sound like??? Where is the note :p:)
And the pictures??? I am a very visual person ;) :)

Nice read this thread.
I used to own Megane RS once but for the last 8 years I'm driving mostly Hertz rentals which is not bad as I'm getting to try all kinds of different cars every week. Just wish they had more sportive cars like Mustang, Camero and Corvette I hired when traveling in USA.

A Honda sports car is close. Called an Acura in the U.S. and it is 500 horse power.
I guess you will have trouble deciding on the new Tesla or the Acura/Honda if you need to get to 60mph in under 4 seconds.

Nice car. Had a drive of one during an Audi performance week last year. It had about 90% of the performance of the RS5...without any of the hassles.

The Liberty is a little on the slow side... But I'm not too worried given its just got to drive around Sydney.

The Quatrro Audis are nice... But after the massive disaster the VW was, I'm steering clear of the family of brands. I have owned an A4 before which we kept in the family for about 15 years. Nice car, but they can be a reliability headache

Two Audis, one VW, and one Land Rover...and no issues with any of them. The one car that I've owned that was perpetual reliability headache was a HSV. Having said that, it may have been slightly more reliable than the Calais that preceded it.

I looked at the RS4 but the maths didnt add up. Full spec'd S4 and $10k on the engine gave me the equiv of an RS4 without the wide arches and v8 noise for a whole lot cheaper.

I think the S4's supercharged 6 would be more tractable than the high revving V8 in the RS4 as well...even without modding it.

Seems you got lucky, that's good. Unfortunately (VW at least) seem to have some serious issues of late across the brand. Perhaps if their follow up service was a bit better...
