So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

Doesnt a higher road speed have the same effect?:p

Not really. Most of the debris that gets through the low down grills on either side of the front bar seems to collect in the 2cm space between the ac and the engine rads, so can't be effectively removed without removing the front bar.

The B needs new Paint and chrome, otherwise driving OK. Runs rough when cold but once warm, purrs along nicely.
I’m sure there will be lots of other hidden problems come to light. But that’s the joy of driving a 50 year old sports car. :)

Just had my Porsche serviced by Chris at Inline Automotive in Queanbeyan. Amazed by the cars he had in there for work. Several Porsches, Ferrari, Lotus, Lambo etc, even a police pursuit car. No Cossies though.
Anyway the Porsche now has a clean bill of health, new water pump, change of coolant, oil, filter and blowout and vacuum of the 3 front rads and a/c units. The whole front and headlights have to be removed to do this effectively.
Had a new air filter too and it seemed to be quicker when I collected it.
All aok to do another 2000km this year, give or take 500.

My red cossie has been there, he seems to always have a race car or two out there as well..

Someone I know though rallying has a workshop in Queanbeyan, he's retired but plays with cars for fun. Last time I was there he was 'fixing' a Goggomobil chassis, he has several of these including a Dart. He also has several Honda S800 sports cars, a very early NSU, Fiesta, Corolla, Mazda rally cars, there is always an Escort or two there as well. Plus some old 'model' cars, smaller than a car, but bigger than a peddle car.
He is always open to people dropping in for a chat if you feel so inclined.

I've heard the same about paint protection, even to the extent of a car needing to be resprayed as the 'protection' severely damaged the paint.

Had paint protection on my last car and they paint was still looking brand new at 11 years. Havent got it on my new car and despite being only 2 months old, I already have chips appearing.

I've had this hankering for a B for a while now, which hasn't gone away even though we have 4 cars.
MrsRK hasn't disagreed with the thought either, althogh there is nothing to be found in CBR so would have to travel to view, not that that seems to have been a problem in the past with 2 the last 3 cars coming from NSW and the other from South Oz.

As GPH reminded me this morning; “You only live once”!

I’m still looking for just the right A. I bought the number plates (MY MGA) many years ago.

I may have found what I’m looking for in my own suburb. It’s Silver, which looks surprisingly good. Just waiting for medical clearance to be allowed to drive again.

Don't believe I have seen a silver one. Love the rear guard curves, looks a bit like my Porsche in a way. Hope the clearance comes through for you soon.

C8E2A2B8-5921-4813-B4D0-EE7C74193FED.jpeg Looking for MGB or similar, head out o British car club show days, loads of fine eye candy, with the odd one popping up for sale at these events. Also chat with owners, they network well on sales opportunities.

My dad has his 63 B pride and joy, and is right into the scene. His MGB is concourse condition. Here’s a shot of an award.

But for me... I have a 66 HR Holden, 70,000 original miles, immaculate as new condition (thanks grandpa), and the daily drive a VF redline which will soon be a sunday driver, two aussie ‘keepers’ in the garage is a blessing.

I go to the British Car day here each year. Hardly anything offered for sale but yes, good eye candy.

You might like to be in my neck of the woods come Easter. The national MG Rally is being held in Cleveland over Easter weekend . My guess is that aside form MG’S, there will be British Marques all over the shop.
It will be worth the visit.

My WRX hatch is black and its a PITA to keep clean - it always seems to rain dust or mud just after I have washed it. Dunno what came over me when I bought it.

I will also never ever ever buy a black car again after my last 5 series... looked pretty for about 20 minutes after a wash then never :)

We are having a very good run with Toyota Camry Hybrids as our rep cars. Still take 3 months from order date to being delivered. Going over 1000 kms per fuel stop and the boot/trunk is a very good size. They are smooth and run almost silently. We have more on order and our staff really like them.

I woke this morning having had a dream of my old Nissan Exa.
1800 cc 5 speed manual, front wheel drive. With a targa roof. Even in NQ with the roof off, it was cool to drive with the A/C running flat out !
I sold my first one and bought a Mercedes 450 SEL, which I sold a few years later (never bought another Benz since) , and in a fit of nostalgia I bought another Exa. Somehow the romance wasn’t quite there anymore, maybe I was a bit older, but it was still a lovely car to drive. Anyway, upon checking “Car sales . Com” this morning I found only 3 examples for sale, one was $18,000.00 the other two $4k -$5k , but the $8 k version was a complete rebuild with spare panels and even a spare engine ! At $4k I’m almost tempted to buy one, not sure where I would keep it, but the best ever fun I had driving (modern) sports car
