So, what music are you listening to now?

Even when I’m having a very sh**tty day like today, I read about things like this and realise things could be a hell of a lot worse. Hell, only 25, RIP. :(

I really like Dollar Brand, aka Abdullah Ibrahim as well, must have a dozen of his albums.

Not so much good music but a little bit of humour and nostalgia though this song did have 3 weeks as Number 1 in Australia in 1974.
The thread Farewell QFF made this song start up in my head.

MrsK and I being second timers have taken the next big step in our relationship (after getting married several years ago), we have merged our record collections. We've spent the afternoon playing records from our past. I picked Uriah Heep - The Magicians Birthday as a starter.

I have the exact same Kallax and stand for my DJ setup.
unlikely but if anyone wants to have a listen to my trance mixes, they are here, https://www.youtube.com/daft009

It was always something I wanted to learn (already had had the gear, unused) and finally found/made the time in the July-Oct 2021 SYD lockdowns

Good grief. Mr ALH has just put on Michael Bublé Christmas carols. Couldn’t get him to wait 2 days 🥴

I told MrsK I 'had' to check out JB Hifi at Belconnen plaza just in case I had missed anything. Walked out with a Bose SoundLink Bluetooth speaker and was thinking about getting a few CDs. But, resisted the temptation.

But, then next door is Revolution CD who had a display with old vinyls. I had to have a flick through, just like I did in the old days. I ended up having a few, including this one.

It stuck in my mind, from when it was released. Another guy at work who was also a music buff rushed down to Brashs on Elizabeth Street to get hold of it, but it was just too expensive. We had been complaining that they price of LPs had crept up from $2.99 to $3.99, and for John Stewart's latest, they wanted $8.99. Highway robbery we cried. At least now, hanging out this long I got it for cheaper, at $6.99 (in today's dollars)

Corb Lund Hard on equipment (tool for the job)

Look for some other music of his as well, some fun stuff. "The truck got stuck" is also quite good.

I listened to Freddy Mercury's solo album Mr Bad Guy on the flight from SIN - BNE. Quite enjoyed it.

It does play the whole album in sequence.

Honestly don't now how I missed this film, enjoyed it last night and it was almost Auf Wiedersehen, Pet reunion.

Very understated film, and the sound track is great. "Still Crazy" about the band "Strange Fruit". The Flame Still Burns..

"Perform This Way" - Weird Al Yankovic
He is an endless stream of ideas.
Have to say it is a bit weird checking him out in a bikini. 🤣

Going through a Dire Straits ‘On Every Street’ phase at the moment. Mark Knopfler could play a bit.
Really enjoyed the episode of A Life on the Road that Brian Johnson did with Knopfler

Jeff Beck gone, :( :( Where to start with his music, I think I have all his albums, RIP Jeff, you gave a lot of enjoyment to many many people. He really knew how to bend a note.

The young girl playing bass is Tal Wilkenfeld who was only 22 when this was recorded in 2008.
