So, what music are you listening to now?

It's funny that you here a song in a place that just seems strange. So from Asahikawa, Hokkaido here is Jimmy Buffet.

That cover looks familiar, it may have been a tape or still buried in big pile of vinyl.
I wasted an awful lot of money on tapes ; they had a very short life in the heat and dust of my daily life...

Same here, but they were convenient. Dropped my Nakamichi off for a service last week, hopefully some tapes that I have are still playable. :)

A lot of my tapes were binned as they do deteriorate with age without the dust.
My kids were both here a few years back ( a very rare event) and were put to cleaning out their share of the stuff in the garage.
Many hundreds of cd's went to the tip; with books and other stuff I had a tandem trailer load in the end.
It was a little bit er….sad.. as I had indirectly paid for it all….sadly the music and the literature was not to my taste.
Kids are not sentimental these days , hoarding seems a habit of the older generations.

My Nakamichi needs a service too.

The place in Canberra where I take my stuff to get serviced is closing down, (Duratone), however they gave me the number of the service person they use, so we will see what he says!

I guess I’m the odd one out for this thread but I’m listening to the stream of Raw FM via their app.
Nice mix of uptempo chillout, dancefloor anthems and remixes for a Sunday morning! 🎧

A couple of years ago our daughter and her husband ditched all their CD's and DVD's. Let's just say I was very annoyed that I wasn't asked if my wife and I would like them.

When clearing out mum in laws house, we found Mr Denali's Beatles record box set plus other Beatles records. Theyve not been played for over 40yrs but the box was not in good shape

Mr Denali decided, as he had no intention of getting a record player and has the CD box set, offered them to friends and many put their hands up but the first was a couple that not only prefer playing records, their new home was specifically wired up for old school speakers/record player. Mr friend said you cant listen to records on blue tooth speakers, there was about 20mins on why and he was most passionate about it but I tuned out 🤣 . This would go with the record collection Mrs friend inherited from her dad. Pics later that evening had them on their new home deck, overlooking coastal water with a glass of wine and smiles on their faces.

Nakamichi is back, it had dried grease, the technician said it had had very little use, so far the cassettes I've played have been ok.

Currently playing a recording of the festival at Roskilde in Denmark. I was in southern Sweden but the local student radio station had a live feed which I taped, 1985, summer, Nina Hagen loud!
It's available on utube etc, but this brings back so many memories............

So many other things to go through.
