Spice bar at Melbourne Qantas Domestic Business Lounge

I have tried the EK lounge at SYD (I think) pre-CoVID and loved it ... much better than QF lounges.
Drifting OT but every EK lounge I’ve been to around the world has consistently better food than QF J lounges (fresher, greater variety and more substantial) - but I’ve never needed an EK lounge in Australia hence my qualification!

Yes, EK lounges in general have a far better spread and quality than the QF (and some other) lounges. Obviously QF F SYD/MEL win out, but a different class of lounge. IMO though EK @ AKL beats EK @ SYD.

It's all subjective of course but I reckon most agree on this.

Now that the EK flight from AKL goes direct from there to DXB, we have to contend with the closed times of the EK AKL lounge.
Also have to wait and see how QF does the refub/reno their (QFi) AKL lounge.
I had use the EK lounge, but it was pre covid and when they still flew to MEL/SYD/BNE on their 5th freedom flights.
Not sure what the EK AKL lounge is now like.

The meatballs were a little dry:

Considering I had just flew in from Perth where out of the two hot options they had run out of the one I could eat - quattro cheese toastie - by the time they got to me in 2A. I think they only loaded one and at most two toasties. I can't eat chicken so the chicken sausages dish (which was plentiful) was politely declined. I was so hungry by the time I got to Melbourne that the meatballs didn't even touch the sides.
