Ok, thanks, so far so good. My points have hit and my status is shown thus - I guess I'm EG till 31 Jan 2024
So I should just add 250k points before the end of February to get another year of EG ie to 31 Jan 2025?
In post #115 by hclee01 in this thread on Flyer Talk that I linked to last week he answers a query about retaining status and he links to a web page with a detailed overview of the current offer. It appears that if we have transferred enough miles a second time to have status extended to Feb 2024 then the SQ one year extension of elite status should then be extended to Feb 2025 without you transferring another 250k miles again. Your dates are to 31 Jan so you should be automatically extended to 31 Jan 2025, according to what was posted below, which I hope is correct.

If so, once you transfer 250K miles into your account, the account should be updated to KF Elite Gold status within 2 ~ 3 days. It will show that your KF Elite Gold status will be due for renewal by 28 Feb 2023. Thereafter, if you transfer another 250K miles into your KF account, the dashboard will show that you have attained the renewal requirements for Gold Status and account will be renewed on 28 Feb 2023 (for another year till 28 Feb 2024). Given that currently, there is a one-year extension of elite status granted by SQ, on 28 Feb 2023, your account will be automatically be renewed for another year till 28 Feb 2024. The 50K elite miles that you have accrued for renewal will then be re-credited to account after 28 Feb 2023 and it will then be used to renew your Elite Gold status when it is due for renewal on 28 Feb 2024. Hence, your elite gold status will be good till 28 Feb 2025.
If you need a detailed understanding of the program mechanics, this article gives a good detailed overview:

From the mainlymiles.com article mentioned in the above post:
One-year status extension
The great thing about the deal is that Singapore Airlines is automatically extending your KrisFlyer or PPS Club status for another year from the end of its existing expiry month, as part of membership support packages
announced last month.
This is the third membership extension the airline has offered and means those who have earned status on the ground, or will do so by the end of this month, will keep it for
at least two years and up to three years in some cases.
Extension of Elite membership will take place in accordance with the following table.
Current Expiry Month | Renewal Date | New Expiry Month |
Mar 2022 | 31 Mar 2022 | Mar 2023 |
Apr 2022 | 30 Apr 2022 | Apr 2023 |
May 2022 | 31 May 2022 | May 2023 |
Jun 2022 | 30 Jun 2022 | Jun 2023 |
Jul 2022 | 31 Jul 2022 | Jul 2023 |
Aug 2022 | 31 Aug 2022 | Aug 2023 |
Sep 2022 | 30 Sep 2022 | Sep 2023 |
Oct 2022 | 31 Oct 2022 | Oct 2023 |
Nov 2022 | 30 Nov 2022 | Nov 2023 |
Dec 2022 | 31 Dec 2022 | Dec 2023 |
Jan 2023 | 31 Jan 2023 | Jan 2024 |
Feb 2023 | 28 Feb 2023 | Feb 2024 |
As you can see, new KrisFlyer Elite Gold memberships achieved this month (February 2022), which would normally be valid until 28th February 2023, will now be automatically extended until
28th February 2024.
Earn or retain status till 2024 or 2025
If you’re a KrisFlyer member and you haven’t achieved your status upgrade or retention yet, this is the perfect month to do it, since you’ll get a fresh membership year through to February 2023, which will then automatically be extended to 2024 as part of the status extension.
For those have sufficient credit card points to repeat the process, giving them enough Elite miles to qualify until February 2024, the status extension means they’ll be good until the end of February 2025.
